Position fault or Out of stock when the printer is loaded with paper stock can usually be solved by calibrating the printer.

Press & hold the FEED button. Let the printer cycle 8-10 times. Should feed to the right position and say Calibration Complete in the window.

Hope this solves your problem.

iseries uses EBCDIC and the file is probably ASCII when importing from/to the iSeries charset convertions ensues, there must be some char that isn't translating well and thus converting itself in some control code, use DSPF or EDTF to open the file and check with F15 the encoding for more info I need to know what is your system CCSID

Top of Form Fault error

It means that the printer did not get a good calibration on the label. First make sure the label sensor is in the proper position. Look at the green bar that the label passes underneath and make sure that the white line (the sensor) is positioned over the label. Then calibrate by pressing and holding the FEED key for about 5 seconds until the labels start to feed. After a few labels feed out, the printer should now have a good read on the size of the label and be ready to go.

Hope that Helps !

Position fault error

The Datamax I4308 returns a position fault error if it cannot sense the label gap where its supposed to be, or if the sensor returns a value outside the permitted range. Re-calibrate to correct the error.

Datamax I4208

position fault is normally a problem with either the formatting or the printer is not calibrated correctly.
Hold the feed button down until at least 3 labels pass by the sensor.
Also check to see the sensor is directly over the die cut on the label if more than 1 up label

Perhaps the sensor is out of position, you must move to the left. Also check that the hole senser is not blocked. Also verified that the sensor type (gap or black mark) in the software is correct.

If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties. Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.

Check inside the green guide (sensor) for pieces of label. That will block the sensor. If the sensor is reporting a thickness which is double (250) what you expect, then that is definitely the issue.
