It's probably a cracked solder joint in the power supply / horizonal drive stages. As the unit heats up the joint is seperating and breaking connection. It could also be a component failing when it gets hot. Usually the voltage regulator or Horizonal Output Transistor (both mount to heat sinks).
If you know how to solder and want to tinker, unplug the set for a couple days (to let the power capacitors discharge) and resolder and crystalized it cracked joints on the board(s) where the power stages, and flyback transformer are located.
If you decide to operate the set with the back off, please be careful. The high voltage on a TV can be 30,000+ volts.

Thank you for you response. I do have the TV unplugged since yesterday. I will wait fot the weekend to tinker,prob will end up just getting a new TV..... thanks again!
