The best way to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program, such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.
The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with the image in what's called the EXIF data. The software you use for printing the picture should give you the option of printing some of that data on the picture or in the margins (or on the back, if your printer can do two-sided printing). Please refer to the documentation for whatever program you're using.
If the camera is under guarantee take it back, the lens error is that
the lens isnt locking properly, to do this (and this is going to sound
nuts) you must take the battery out wait 2-3 minutes then whack the
camera (side) on a hard surface like a solid wood desk( not too hard),
this will help unblock the lens to close/open correctly), Its going to continue happening to you,
If you're calling the SD memory card a chip, then you need to transfer the images with a USB cable to your computer. Once that's done put the memory card back in the camera and all subsequent photos will record on the card.
just call Nikon i am sure they will doit Free becoz it is a manufac fault all manufacturers are doing it Freejust call them and ask them about BAD CCD !!
Will the camera lens come out when the camera is turned on?
Can you still take a photo/flash/sound without seeing the photo?
Chances are the LCD screen has failed and would have to be replaced. (ive seen this screen problem when it goes to white or when cracked)
you basically would have 3 options,
1: send it out for repairs to Nikon? ( may cost close to what you paid) 2: Buy a used or new LCD on an auction site (if your gadget savvy and you can replace yourself or have someone do it for you) avg price $50-75? 3: sell your camera on an auction site to use funds to purchase another camera.
