The new face plate needs to be coded to the deck. with the face on you need to press and hold presets #1 and #3 at the same time. keep on holding and press reset continue to hold #1 and #3 until the unit is in all lighting mode. press AM button one time. p-rom ok will display. press and hold #6 and reset at the same time. continue to hold until display comes on.

JVC KD-R610 is stuck in Protect mode

Try disconnecting your battery, reconnecting it, and resetting your stereo. If that doesn't work, the constant power (yellow wire) or ignition wire (red wire) may have come in contact with ground or isn't properly connected. Make sure everything is connected properly and try resetting your stereo. If it is still flashing "protect", the unit needs servicing Contact JVC Customer Care Center at: 800-252-5722.

Hi.

If you have lost the faceplate you need to order the original replacement from Pioneer (a second hand or one adapted from a different stereo will not sync with main unit). Here the US contact: Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. - Genuine Pioneer Parts.

Call your Pioneer local number and provide stereo part and model number to get the part.

Regards.
