Premature shutting off

Iron works OK for 1 minute, " auto" light flickers and iron cools off. Model # DG 050. The iron works fine when you plug it in and turn it on. The problem seems to be the auto shut-off. It shuts off prematurely and the only way to get it to heat again is to unplug it and plug it back in. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iron keep jumping. Gave it time to cool off and unplug. When I plugged it in it continued to jump.

There should a switch on the handle to prevents the automatic shut off from functioning when the iron is in use..

Have you try with lower heat setting?
It seems like it might be thermostat or thermal fuse that is not working properly.

Rowenta superpress DG 050 leaks water while steaming all over garment. Do I need to Descale the unit?

I've had the same problem with two Rowenta irons. When set to a lower temperature, the iron has a bad habit of leaking water when the steam option is on. I have to either turn up the temperature setting or shut off the steam option.

Pump wont run

Clean an iron:

Unplug the iron and make sure it is cool before cleaning.
Use a toothpick or pipe cleaner to remove buildup in the steam vents, making sure the debris doesn't fall into the vents.
Use a fine sewing needle to carefully clean the spray nozzle of mineral deposits.
To flush sediment from a steam iron, pour 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup vinegar into the water tank. Place the iron on a rack over a broiling pan and set the iron to steam until the tank runs dry. Repeat if necessary. Or follow the instructions for using a commercial iron cleaner.

Service the steam and spray mechanism:

Unplug the iron.
Use a fine sewing needle to unclog the steam valve assembly. Also, check the valve spring and replace it if it is broken or has lost tension.
If the spray pump is accessible, remove it and check for leaks by placing the spray tube in water and squirting the pump. Clean or replace as needed.

My Black & Decker d2020 iron immediately goes to auto shut off and will not stay on.

test the 1) fuse heat and replace it
2) test the board if there are voltage , if there are the board can be faulty or repair.
3) see your instruc. manual go to the section troubleshooting and see what is wrong.

I plug the iron in , 5 minutes later it turns off ! Is that a auto shut-off problem or something else

The iron has an auto shut off of usually 8 minutes. The iron will automatically turn on if you move the iron. If this does not answer your concern, let me know and we can look for a solution. Thanks.

Sounds as if the cable may be damaged or a loose connection. May be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

Rowenta DM880 Auto shutoff - Shuts off too frequently

This is a problem with a lot of Rowenta irons. It is the auto shut off that is not working properly and the only way to fix it is to have it disassembled and the switch hardwired to be on whenever the iron it plugged in. It is a thermal metal switch and it just stops working and then the iron will not turn on and the yellow light blinks.
