No. The S860 uses standard AA batteries. If you want to use rechageables then you must charge them outside the camera using a separate charger.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). well i had the same problem it means it doesnt like that type of batterie i find alkyline works best

no dont use rechargables,just use litium energizers,and you,ll be fine.hope i helped.p.s i sold digital cameras for 3years as a photo lab supervisor,and i have this camera myself,its awesome.

try to remove battery then put it back then try to press the battery cover while turning on the camera..

try to turn on the camera and then push the playback button..
