Are these movies that have been taken by the camera? Or are they movies you got from somewhere else and put on a memory card?

Sometimes you can't play AVI files bacause the device can support the format of avi. There are some AVI players for you to try on your computer or laptop such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, MPlayer, Elmedia Player, 5KPlayer and so on.

You need to go to the menu screen, scroll over to the tools option, scroll down to format and format the memory card. I just had this same problem and this is what worked for us!

Canon ixus camera says my movie clip is an error

The video files your particular camera makes should be AVI format. What media player are you using? I've heard of problems playing AVI files with Windows Media Player.
Try using a different media player like VLC or Winamp. There are also video format conversion programs out there for free. I use anyvideoconverter for that. You can get all of those programs from cnet.com's download center.

Hello Aristica,
There is No software download for the DVD plaer itself. Where you are going wrong is the Format ie avi that DVD player does not support it. You can Google free software to download which will allow you to convert you AVI file to something that the Dvd player will play:

DVD Video • VCD • SVCD • DVD-R • DVD-RW • DVD+R • DVD+RW • CD (Audio) • CD-R • CD-RW • Picture CD • Divx

so If you type in Google free Avi converter Then this will list several. You really want one that will convert to DIVX or VOB those will definately play on your DVD player.

I hope this has help you out. I tryed not to go into too much detail.

Cheers
