To view the copy count, you'll have to print a config page. Press Menu, then scroll down until you see List/Test Print and press OK. Choose the Config Page option, and you'll get a page or two of information, with the copy count (broken into black and white and color) listed near the top of the first page.

I have a Ricoh MPC3000, copy count is B/W 770,000, color 87,000, been using it for about 7 years. Is it nearing the end of its usefulness?

Old yes, the newer models have more memory, faster speeds, ect, but if it works... Ricoh "life" is 5 years, or a max copy count.
If its your main color unit, and you count on it, then maybe its time to look. -Carl

I bought used mpc4500. Counter counts 2 clicks for 11 x 17 copy. Ricoh service tells me there is no way to reverse that setting back to just one click per 11 x 17. Is this true?

doubtful its true, but it is a standard practice to set up the machine to count 11 by 17 as 2 clicks because it is 2 pieces of 8.5 by 11 which are counted as 1 .... GET IT ?

On the Ricoh cl 7200 there is an error code sc386. What is it?

sc386 = an error with the black developer. This could be caused by something in the DV unit itself, or the black toner. If you've just replaced either one of these recently, try reinstalling them and resetting the machine. Otherwise, the black development unit probably needs to be replaced.

RICOH COPYING MACHINE MODEL 3713

Your copier may need developer if the cycle count is over 150,000 copies. Once that is added to the toner the Toner/Developer sensor should be calibrated and should work fine.

Sometimes the drum can create light copies if it was exposed to light from being out of the machine or leaving the door open too long on the side of the machine letting light in.

Copies are half printed and half almost not printed (very lite)

If the copy count is around 150,000 or higher and you haven't replaced the developer as well, it should be replaced. That symptom can cause light copies if it hasn't been replaced every 150,000 cycles.
