3235 viewsonic hdtv,comes on fine for about 2 minutes then goes dead. Picture & sound are fine before it goes off.Has to cool off then does the same thing when turned on again.Is it worth taking it in for repairs or is there an easy fix?

sony lcd turns on, giving me signal and picture in 2 minutes, then suddenly turns off and the fans goes crazy. what can I do to prevent this? I have tried to reset the projector and switched the powermode to normal, but this didn't help.

did you tried that?

t con board on the back of the screen will need replacing, its the one with the wires going to it from the main av board to the screen. the chip can become damaged due to heat or even come away from the board. if its working when you bag the board it could be a lose connector or the connections that is soldered to the board have come away and will need soldering back on.

0ne of 3 has failed:
(in order of probability):

1. Backlight inverter
2. Power Supply
3. Backlight

Please seek the expertise of an experienced TV repair technician - as they contain potentially lethal voltages that must be properly discharged before work can begin.

If there is still about ? 24. Volts coming from the Power Board when it goes dark, it will be the Inverter board that needs replacing. If not, it is the Power Board that needs replacing. The Voltages should be written next to the sockets & plugs on the Power Board.

Ur LCD inverter board is dead.Replaced this inverter board will get ur picture back.Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement.It a long shape board.

My Sony Wega KDF-55XS955 55" was going on for 1-2 minutes then going black with no sound and after a few minutes would come back on. After reading all the posts and talking with a repair guy I replaced the bulb and that fixed the problem.

If this is a flat panel LCD tv, this is a sure sign that the panel itself is bad. I have seen this before. Tv comes on works fine then within 5 minutes goes blank.

Does this have any effect on the picture at all? If not, hook up the audio out to a receiver or boom box or something and see if the line level audio outputs get the same warped sound after 10 minutes or so. If not, the problem is somewhere in the audio amp circuitry.

personally i would call a tv repairman out to fix the set.you can get alot of different opinions on here about what it may or may not be but the best thing to do is call a repaiman and let them fix it
