My bff recommended this extremely easy-to-usel software to me and he had used it successfully to recovered photos, music, etc. from his Sony memory card. Best wishes!
Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

After you've recovered your photos, go back in the menus to that "format" screen. Make sure that "Low Level Format" is checked. Then format your card. This should help prevent this from happening again. This will also erase any photos you may have on the card, so again only do this after you've recovered your pictures.
