There are 2 easy ways to transfer contacts from palm phone to iPhone. Check the below instruction.

Solution 1. Using SIM card Directly

If the Android users haven't cut their SIM card for iPhone yet, they can take advantage of the SIM card to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone. Android users need to go to their Contacts app and choose Export Contacts to SIM. Then the contacts can be transferred to the SIM card. Now users can cut the card and install it in iPhone, and go to Settings > Mails, Contacts, Calendars, and scroll down to find Import SIM Card Contacts. Now you are able to import the contacts from SIM card to your iPhone.

Solution 2. Using Gmail

Another method is using Gmail. Android users can take advantage of Gmail (or other emails provide contacts sync function) to sync Android contacts to iPhone. The following tutorial will show you how to do it:
  1. Log in Gmail on your Android phone, and check the "Sync Contacts" option (If you are first time to use this method.
  2. After Gmail Contacts synced with your Android Contacts, you should turn to iPhone, and tap Settings > Mails, Contacts, Calendars, and tap Add Account. Then choose Google, and enter your Gmail account.
  3. After adding Google Account, you can turn on Contacts, and iPhone will ask whether you want to merge with your iPhone contacts. Click Yes and the contacts will be synced to your iPhone.
With the sync function of Gmail, people are able to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone with ease. If you aren't using Gmail on your iPhone, don't worry, you can take advantage of other email services like Yahoo, Outlook and so on.

SOURCE: downloading contacts from Palm to iphone

My wife and I just bought an iPhone and wanted to transfer our contacts from our Samsung i500 Palm phone. All the instructions I found online suggested going through Outlook, but that didn't work for me for a variety of reasons. I found this other method that worked really well.

  1. Bring up Palm Desktop. Make sure your Palm phone is sync'ed up. Show the Address page, select all contacts (Ctrl-A), and export them with File, Export vCard... This puts all contact information into a single file as a sequence of vCards.
  2. Bring up Windows Address Book. You can find this in Start, All Program, Accessories, Address Book.
  3. Using Windows Explorer, drag the vCard file you created in step 1 to the Windows Address Book window. I had never used Windows Address Book, so it was empty. If yours isn't empty, you'll have to decide whether you want to merge your contacts.
  4. When you drop the file, you'll get a window asking you to confirm the first contact. Press OK. Another window will come up for the second contact. Press OK until all windows are gone. It's easiest to hold down the Enter key.
  5. Bring up iTunes with your iPhone plugged in. Go to your iPhone page, to the Info tab, and configure it to sync from Windows Address Book. Click Apply in the lower-right corner of the window.
  6. Sync your iPhone. Verify that your contacts transferred over.
  7. Tell iTunes to stop sync'ing with Windows Address Book, since you probably only wanted a one-way sync. Your contacts will be backed up anyway by iTunes, so the Address Book sync feature doesn't buy you much.

SOURCE: Palm to iPhone

Assuming you are using Palm desktop, have an email account, and can receive emails on your iPhone:
1) Open Palm Desktop on your computer and click on Contacts.
2) Click on Categories and select "ALL".
3) Go to Edit and click "Select All" (all contacts should be highlighted)
4) Go to File and click "Export Vcard"
5) A dialog box will prompt you for a file name. Use what every name you prefer, but remember the file name and location. Your contacts will all be saved as a vCard file (vcf)
6) Now go to your email account and send yourself an email and "attach" the file you created from step 5.
7) On your iphone, receive the email from step 6 above. Scroll down to the bottom of the email and you will see the attached file from step 6 above.
8) Click on the attachment and you will be prompted by iPhone to add the contacts to your contact list. Follow the intructions.

Should work like a charm! [There are other ways of exporting from Palm to the iphone by exporting from Palm to a CSV file and then importing, after mapping fields, to either a Windows Address Book file or an Outlook (not Outlook Express) file. The advantage is the ability to sync on a batch basis with your iphone.. helpful to quickly add changes/new records to your iphone. But the vCard method outlined above is easiest]

Palm treo keeps turning off

this is caused by a software conflict do you sync you device? if so it can be something your syncing over to the phone from your computer you want to sync over just your contacts then tasks, and media items. if you do not sync you device then i would suggest backing it up and doing a hard reset on it because the powercyling is due to a software failure

I want to sync my Palm Desktop, from a TREO 650, on my iMAC to my new iphone. I was able to sync everything off the desktop except for the Palm desktop, where all my phone numbers, addresses, memos,...

The best way is to transfer the Calendar and Contacts to Outlook. The iPhone can then be synced with Outlook.

Unfortunately, tasks and memos do not transfer. You will need to find other 3rd party apps that are supported on the iPhone and transfer your data to them.

Two examples are:

1. Evernote - This is good for memo. You can export your memos and then import them into Evernote. unfortunately, when I did this, it was a bit tricky. I even had to write a little PERL script to create the format that it wanted.

2. RemembertheMilk - this is a todo application

Copy Contacts from Palm Centro to SIM Card

When I migrated from my Palm Centro (best smartphone ever) to my current BlackBerry, I did the following: 1) Export Palm contacts from the Palm Desktop software to CSV (comma separated values or tab-delimited text) format. 2) Import the CSV file to your Google Contacts account. 3) Wirelessly sync Google Contacts to your new phone using the free Google Sync app (link below). 4) Verify data was transferred appropriately.
Google Sync details: http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/
You should be able to follow the same process for your Palm Calendar by exporting your Palm Calendar from the Palm Desktop software to a file (save the exported file to your desktop, or an easy to find location on your computer), then import the Calendar file into a NEW Google Calendar, not your primary calendar (in case there's conflicts or problems, you can delete the secondary Google calendar without losing your primary Google calendar items). Google Sync should allow you to choose more than one Google Calendar to sync with your new phone.

Palm data and ActiveSync

You won't be able to do that. Lotus Organizer as well as Lotus Notes and OutHook are PIM some plus e-mail, just like Palm Desktop is a PIM. So you can have the Treo sync with Lotus Organizer AND have the Axim sync with it also it is because there are conduits buit for them. There is a middleware that allows both to talk to one. Now if you can find a piece of software out there that will sync a PocketPC with Palm Desktop, I'm sure a lot of Palm converts would love to know that.
