Ice maker mal-formed ice

I have a Kenetico reverse osmosis water system suppling my Kitchenaid Superba side-by-side refrigerator. I believe the water filter in the refrigerator is hindering the water pressure from adequately providing the volume of water necessary to the ice maker to function properly. Is there a replacement "slug" with no filtering available to replace the existing filter # 4396508 as the reverse osmosis is more than adequate for this.

No "slug" is available however you could just use a reverse osmosis diaphram pressure tank to boost the water pressure. you can also use a water supply tube to bypass the in-refrigerator completely.

KitchenAid Superba KSRG25FK Side by Side-where is the arm of the ice maker?

Hello ksraine,

I understand that you are looking for the arm on your ice maker. I believe you are talking about the ice makers that have the little wire arm that goes up and down as it makes ice to know when to stop making ice. The ice maker that you currently have installed on you side-by-side does not have the wire arm. Here is a picture of a complete ice maker that is factory installed on your unit -justinbur167.jpg Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

Kitchen aid ice maker water overflow issue

it's gonna be either the water valve or the gear shaft in the ice maker. replacement ice maker $130.00 water valve $40.00. gear only comes in with module $90.00. low water pressure from plugged water filter can cause this or if a reverse osmosis system is hooked to it. 40 pounds or more is reccomened for the valve to work properly

Ice Maker Not Working

Hi: A lot of reverse osmosis systems don't supply enough water pressure to the ice maker to fill. Contact your manufactrue of your reverse osmosis system and see if it works with icemakers. I thind usually the require at least 20-30psi. Or hook your refrigerator to city pressure to see if it works. Also I don't know if you have just an ice maker or a water dispensing side by side, or your water quality. If you just have an icemaker, most chlorine will evaporate before the ice is frozen, any odors in the water will still be there. Good Luck, Jeff

No ice

The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser (if equipped). The valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
Another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. The ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. In addition, check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering. The water does not go to the ice-maker or thru the filter unless the ice-maker turns on the water valve.

Kitchenaid Superba Ice Maker quit

Make sure your manual doesn't say something about inline filters, or a float that might be sticking in off position. Depending on how ice is made sometimes they have a float to where water rises so hight then gets shut off to freeze and form the ice.
