SOURCE: washer leaking water on floor
Need to check drain pump and its hose connections. If its not from the drum seal then that's usually where the leaks occur.

www.applianceaid.com/norgewash.html gave us the info on popping the lid to access the screws for removing the front panel. Piece of cake from there...

SOURCE: Repairing leaking Maytag washing machine
Maytag Appliances are ****!! Don't buy Maytag. Spent $2500.00 in 2005 on Maytag Neptune washer and dryer. They have been nothing but trouble. Washer has water running in tub constantly. Recall on ground and recall on footing. Dryer making loud noise when drying clothes. The Maytag man is dead and gone.

Sounds like you might need a new pump belt. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Unplug the washer and with the water out tilt it back so that you can see the bottom. You have a main drive belt that goes from the motor to the big pulley in the middle. There should be a second belt that goes from the motor to a smaller pulley which is the pump. Make sure that this pulley turns freely in both directions. One direction is agitate and the other is discharge. If it does and your belt is loose a new belt might do the trick.
If the pulley does not move freely take off the front panel, two philip screws about 3 inches up from the bottom of the front panel. Inspect the pump. One time I found a scouring pad in the pump!! If after inspection the pump still does not move freely you may need to purchase a new pump. Find the part number and check out prices on-line. The pump is relatively easy to replace. Good Luck
