Stihl MS250C Chainsaw works great won't turn off!

Stihl MS250C Chainsaw works great but won't turn off. I took the cover off and there is a black wire with a connector but it does not go to anything. Have I lost a part? I need a diagram of this model to see what is supposed to be there. Somebody please help! Thanks for looking!

I must be stupid, lol, cause I am not understanding. I wish I could post a picture on here of what it looks like. I completely understand what you said and I think I found the place that it goes but it is just plastic so I am not sure how it would ground. Trust me, I am not the brightest crayon in the box. lol There is like a channel in the plastic part of the inside of the switch that the connector goes into (not sure if that is where it is supposed to go) but still won't turn off. There is a flat wire that comes out and makes a v under the switch but it does not connect to anything either. This is one of those times I wish I could find a parts diagram for this thing. Thank you so much for your help. Sorry I am so dense.

If this black wire has a connector on the end that looks like a metal extension to the wire... It hooks into a slot in the control lever shaft. ie, the control lever is the single lever that moves from off to on to high idle to choke. The right side of this lever shaft fits into a little socket. (take off the air filter so you can see it better) and the left side fits down into a clip in the white plastic. The black wire fits into a little groove in the control lever shaft. Note: it goes in somewhat backwards than what would be intuitive. in other words, it goes in from left to right so the insulated portion of the wire goes in first and the metal connector portion goes in last. When it is properly installed, the flat spring that rests against the control lever cam will touch the black wire's terminal end and the engine will quit when the lever is moved to the off position. The flat spring should be above the control lever cam, not below.

That wire should go to the kill switch. IT just grounds out the magento. See the on off switch, and put it back on there.

If after a period this can allways happen by every kind of powertool where the ignition coil is mounted to ground to stop the engine, if its disconected to the ignition module but at the moment much people do not know how to get it off at that moment, also power generators or other fuel machines " Use the choke " it will stop in a little surpluss of fuel and remember if that happend to not use the primerbulb if there is one by next start

I took apart my new stihl ms 210 the throttle assembly anyway, where does the black wire connect to? there is a red wire connecting to a metal bracket that is coming from the same hole the black one is i...

On the Master Control Lever, you will notice a round reciever on the left side of the lever shaft. This holds the round terminal of the black wire in place. As the lever is rotated upward, the shaft brings the terminal of the black wire into contact with the flat brass spring (which belongs ON TOP of the lever shaft) and thereby stops the engine.
If the throttle trigger is pulled each time the lever is set to choke, this will never again be an issue. However, if the lever is pushed all the way down to choke and the throttle trigger isn't pulled, the linkage will malfunction again.
ALWAYS pull the throttle trigger before you set the choke.

Hope this helps,
