Hi
To make the player as region free, switch on the LG HT554 Player. Push the eject button to open the tray. Now, press “0” on your player 4 times or until the region code settings shows up on your player. It will show the current region code and will then ask for new region code. Press “0” on your remote to set it as a new region code(0=All Regions). Press Enter key on remote, now restart your player and check the player by playing the DVD’s. It should be region free now.
Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.

Hello
This works on the asia model for your player. Try this and let me know what happens. There are a few other LG codes/tricks to get it to play region.
1. Power On your HTIB
2. Wait for the No Disc icon to appear
3. Using your remote, press "pause", 3,1,4,1,5,9
4. You should see the region code menu showing option to enter a new region code and the current region code like so:
New Region Code = ____
Current Region Code = 3
5. Press "0" on your remote to set the new Region Code (0 is all Region or in other words region free)
6. Press "Enter" key on the remote
7. Power off your HTIB
8. Power On again if you want to test your Region 1 DVDs. It should be working now.
1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive
2. Press "PAUSE" on the remote
3. Enter "3 1 4 1 5 9" on the remote (the word COdE appears on the display)
4. Enter "0" on the remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.)
5. Press "PAUSE" on the remote
6. Power the player off and then back on
or try this step:
1) Press 'setup' on remote control
2) Move down to the 'lock' picture
3) Press '0000000'
4) Select Ok when congratulation message appears
or
0. VCD playback
1. Press PAUSE, 1, 4, 7, 2
2. Press UP 6 times, '07 00' should appear on the display
3. Press Program 6, Program 5 ('07 FE' should be displayed)
4. Press ENTER
5. Press RETURN
6. Power off and on again
Various methods are used to change region codes although these methods vary from unit to unit.
- Press the Open button on your remote control to open the drive tray
- Press the Pause button on your remote control
- Press the 0 button on your remote control
4 times
- The onscreen display should now prompt you for a new region
- Press the 1 button on your remote control for region 1, the 2 button for region 2, and so on, or the 0 button for multi-region playback
- Press the Pause button on your remote control
- Power off your DVD player
- Power on your DVD player
this should work. Also i advice you use the 0 buttun for multi region playback so as to avoid changing the settings again.
Hope this solution has been helpful?
no this does not work. please dont think for one second i dont no what i am doing because i have done this with 4 dvd players. mainley philips one though. any other ideas?
Have you tried this method?
- Press "pause"
- Press "1472"
- edit the 5th number group in the code
the first number is the region code
eg.
if the number is "12" then the region is set to 1
if the number is "42" then the region is set to 4
- so if you want all regions set it to "02"
when finished press "pause" again to exit from the menu
power off the unit and turn back on again.
OR this
- Download
http://www.digitalfaq.com/downloads/dvdh...
- Burn the folder 'RMTM0000' to a CD-R making sure that the directories stay in order.
- Insert the disk to your player, disk will be ejected shortly and menu will appear.
- Select 0 for all regions and press ENTER and then PAUSE on remote to confirm.
- You have multiregion theater.
these 2 methods should work as the first one is adjusting the BIOS setting and care should be taken when doing that.
Hope this solution solves your problem?
