Hello :)
Somehow my tv got stuck in zoom mode on the screen...I don't have the remote that came with the tv, just a generic one that doesn't work. How can I get the screen back to normal without a remote? Thanks! Jeanne
You should be able to get to the menu with the front panel buttons. Otherwise, try unpluging for a minute, this may allow a reset. Please do not rate me if this is no help.

Sorry u can't fix this zoomming mode problems without the tv original remote. This tv zoomming mode function it is have it only on the tv original remote function only no where else.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote to use.
Look in ur tv remote control for a button that said like VIEWMODE,P.sizes or Zoom buttons, pick one of these button fine a picture mode that fit ur tv screen.
Was exactly what you said. The cable box settings were in wide mode. Couldn't figure it out at all. Funny thing was too.. on my cable box remote, the button under the #9 button is the # button.. it doesn't say zoom at all.. but it totally controls the zoom.
So thanks for that.. AND thanks for saying "under the #9 on the cable remote" instead of just saying .. the zoom button.
See if there is a button on the remote that says "format" and push it until the screen is the right size. Also, if you are using the remote that came with your cable/satelite box then there is a format section in the menu of that as well. You just have to go through the menus slowly until you find the settings for format and press adjust until the screen fits properly to your likings. I wish you luck, Russmann.
Problems with screen size
Look out for 2 x 2.2uF electrolytics (sometimes red in color)
Vertical height oversize
The eprom was found to be faulty (nvm)
Pressing the screen format button displays wide, smart, zoom and 4:3 modes but settings have no effect on picure
Enter TT35 in the service mode to select a 4:3 CRT
