The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

SOURCE: Canon Powershot A430 horizontal lines problem

have opened my camera. (it was useless anyway, right?) GUess what I found: in the lens-assembly there is a ribbon cable that controls the two solenoids, one of the shutter, one of the diafragm (or what it's called). This one is broken, the electric circuits are discontinued and so there is no control. It seems to be a design error since it broke exactly where the ribbon bends at 180 degrees almost with no place for a loop most of the focussing time. Can anyone find out where to find a NEW replacement ribbon cable? 847a466.jpg

SOURCE: Powershot A430 canon camera battery problem

Alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pics in a digital camera. Some may have reached their shelf life, and though brand new may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. Retailers sell these for around $7 for a package of four (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

SOURCE: I have a powershot A480 canon camera and it date

If you press the "Function Select" button then press the outer ring UP or DOWN to select the icon that looks like a clock on the left and panel. Then press the outer ring LEFT or RIGHT until the L is selected and appears in the panel on the LHS. That will remove the date stamps from the photos.

Cheers, Richard

PS Great choice of camera by the way.

Photo date stamp for Canon PowerShot S3 IS

The camera will not deface your photos by scrawling a string of digits across them. However the date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Overexposure

The A430 is prone to fatigue failure of a flex cable internal to the camera that causes these symptoms. Please see this other Fixya article.

My Canon digital camera puts the date and time on the photo, but when I sent away for prints (used Kodak.com) the prints were just stamped with the day the print was made, not the date the photo was taken....

When you download the pics to your computer and view them, is the date and time on the pics then? If not, then your camera is not including the info on the pic itself.

I cant get my date and time on the pictures even after i have set the date and time . When i print or download on computer the date and time can not be seen

The date/time stamp only works in "Postcard" resolution. Press the "Func Set" button, then scroll down to the bottom to select postcard resolution.
Then press the menu button. Select the "Camera" menu, then scroll down to the the Date Time Stamp selection to turn it on.
