The color on my TV looks yellowish green. Are there bulbs or something you need to change to correct the colors?
SOURCE: picture color - it is a blue and green picture- no other color- looks artificial
update your tv with a usb drive. worked on my phillips 60PP9200D/37. get update at phillips web site. solves many problems
SOURCE: phillis 55pw9363 yellowish - greenish picture
cleaning the CRT lenses and mirror will help, however with that model I would suspect that the gree and blue CRT needs the coolanr changed to get a your color and clarity back. thats a common problem with all phillips rear projection TVs
SOURCE: no picture and i replaced the bulb
Joe,
I've never heard of a color wheel costing that much even with labor included - I think I'd try to find another tech for his advice.. If you have trouble locating one try NESDA or let me know what city/state you're in and maybe I can help recommend someone.
That said, if the lamp is good the next logical thing to check is the ballast. If the ballast is not supplying voltage to the lamp then it clearly won't light. A ballast is not that expensive, similar to a ballast in a floresent light - only a bit more complex. In any event I would strongly suggest finding a real professional first we are out there...

it should have a year warranty get it in for warranty repair before the warranty runs out or someone tells you the wrong thing to go and the tv ends up as a big paperweight...
SOURCE: TV Picture is distorted
1) Convergence chips are shorted....One quick test is to desolder and remove both STK392 chips....then power the set on. If the tubes light up the chips were shorted. You can get new ones from www.TvRepairKits.com
2) Another possible problem is a bad HVG - AKA the flyback.
Try the convergence chip test first. Note: On some Philips sets you can just unplug cable "1516" instead of removing the chips.
For instructions on how to find/remove cable 1516 visit the website listed above and click on their tips page. On that page click on the "Magnavox DPTV3xxx Checks" link.
