Best to charge unit from Mains or Computer USB, then you know it's fully charged. Navman has charge in battery but you need to fully charge it yourself , then you know where you are.

Your cigarette plug may have a short in I had the same problem with my phone charger and had to replace the cigarette outlet

My navman won't find my location

You may have to go to the menu and turn on the your location option. If it wont find your house it might be because you are on a private road or the manufactures didn't update their info

Have a navman F20 satnav which was low on charge. When plugged into mains initially showed battery charging in black and white then blank screen so left it charging for 24 hours. When switched on again...

If its showing a white battery with a cross then its not charging. Try using the car charger and see if it shows a battery without the cross.

Navman 40i appears to charge up but will not

if the unit is more than 2 years old the chances are the battery is defective/worn out, you say battery appears to charge up, so think you are unsure of the battery condition.

I have a Navman F15 that will not turn on. It is only a year old. It has not gotten wet and has not been dropped and is fully charged. Any idea what is going on?

i have the same problem.. i stopped using it for a while now it doesn't power up... when i charge it shows the lights on but if i unplug and turn on or reset no lights at all.

Navman won!t charge from in car charger or mains adapter but will charge from garmin in car charger

Your Navman will not run in car unless the output on the charger is 1000ma or 1a. you need to buy a genuine charger, motorola phone chargers do not have the output to run the unit

Navman N40i Not charging in car

Does the car charger cord plug into the cradle? or just straight into the unit (despite resting on the cradle) ? Do you know if anything else charges via the car charger?

Can NavMan 520 charge via USB?

that is probably due to the battery being totaly dead,
try using a mobile phone charger (nokia),
usb is for data transfers.

Often the ni-Cad or LiFe cells get so flat they need a special charger with high current. They just will NOT charge up any other method, it may be best if you replace the battery, you need to open up the unit to do that. There is a "Pack" inside. You can get batteries fro,m manufacturer or eBay Craig's list Google etc. However now you would also have to reinstall the software again if not lucky. There are tutorial how to do what you want on the Navman web site

Could be a number of reasons. If its frozen press in the reset button as it should be on the back.
The battery could be exhausted so try and charge it using the car lead.
The Navigation unit could be at fault or could have a dry connection at the battery or power switch.

I had this, so I connected it to my laptop.. left it for an hour or 2 then unplugged it.. worked after that
