I can hook my laptop up to other tvs but not to my Sony Bravia.. it tries to work and then it says no signal on the screen after approx 10 secs of tryin to connect..
Make sure you set it to an acceptable resolution try 640x480 that should always work then try 1024x768 that should work too... if not, could be a failiure, but is usually just a setting

As the HDMI input of TVs are only meant to accept video signals (to set HDMI specifications), any SMART TV dongle that attaches to the HDMI port is going to output a video signal compatible with the set HDMI specification. A modern TV like yours will be able to accept the digital video signal from any dongle, as it accepts all the common modern formats (1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i)
Your Bravia should have a 15 pin PC input, this input can take most standard PC resolutions, however if you a have a video card with an HDMI port, you should set your resolution to 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz refresh rate so that the signal can be recognized and processed, many standard PC video resolutions are not compatible with the HDMI inputs. You should not require audio cables unless you are using a DVI to HDMI connection.

I have a Sony Bravia model KDL-46s5100 that had the same problem. All HDMI ports stopped working. I don't know why this works but unplug the TV for about 30 sec, then plug it back in and hold down the power button on the tv for 10 seconds. Like I said I don't know why this works but it worked for me. Good luck.
Ur satalite signal can't be hook up in ur HDMI will damage the board,if U leave it in for a longtme.
The HDMI not design for air signal incoming.
That why U have HD packages from ur cables, satalite,or phones copannies.
I have the 1525 and you have to do extra steps each time you want the HDMI to be recognized by the Bravia - too bad it is not automatic as it is with some. Anyway what you have to do is have the HDMI cable connected from laptop to TV then go to your desktop - right click on an open area (away from icons), a menu will appear, let the cursor hover over Graphics Options - you'll then see Output To...then you'll see Intel Dual Display Clone...hover over that and you'll then see Notebook + Digital Television...left click on that and you should see your desktop on the TV in a few seconds. If it does not work the first time...get your movie or whatever you want to show up and ready and go thru these steps again...stupidly complicated aye? when it should automatically detect and show...are other TVs like this?
1. Through VGA Cable(Same cable which goes from CPU to PC Monitor)- For Video. Take to PC Mode from MENU -> EXTERNAL I/P -> PC.
2. Through HDMI Cable. Take to HDMI Mode from MENU -> EXTERNAL I/P -> HDMI.
If Still No Video CASE1- 'NO Signal' Message Comes, then toggle the laptop screen with Function Key (depending upon laptop company). CASE-2- 'Un-Supported Signal' Message comes then adjust the resolution to 1024*768 or 800*600 or as mentioned in Manual.
Please intimate me if any other problem comes after that.
