Today my old Sharp FO-5550 has decided to store to memory and not print the faxes as they arrive. I have no error messages, the toner was replaced about 3 weeks ago and there's plenty of paper. For the life of me I can't figure out how to make these faxes print that are in memory.
Check and see if your fax has a power save button next to your LCD screen. Pressing it will store everything into memory or you could do a flash memory clear however you will lose everything that is stored in memory(RX and TX only). Press FUNCTION , 9,*,8,#,7 then press start, next press your # key to scroll to flash memory. Press start. This should fix it.

I am a tech that Services Sharp. Enter simulation mode using # * c * after you are in run test command 66-10 This problem happens from you getting a bad fax mostly from noise or interference to the line. if it happens a lot to you then try getting a power filter with network and fax ports.
Press [START/MEMORY] and the stored documents will automatically print out. If you need the step by step owners manual with pictures, please send me an email to [email protected]. Please put "sharp ux b700" as the subject.
Setting 05: TRANSACTION REPORT PRINT SELECTION This sets the condition for printing out a Transaction Report. Enter a number from 1 to 5 as follows: 1 (ERROR/TIMER MEMORY): A report will be printed after an error, timer operation, or memory operation. 2 (SEND ONLY) A report will be printed only after a transmission 3 (ALWAYS PRINTS) A report will be printed after each transmission, reception, or error 4 (NEVER PRINTS) A report will never be printed. 5 (ERROR ONLY) A report will be printed only after an error occurs
It sounds like your toner has ran out, so you cant print any more faxes out, the memory saving the unprinted faxes has filled up and cant save any more messages.
Replace the toner and let the machine print out the saved faxes. You should then be back to normal
Issue:
ERROR LCD: WAITING FOR REPORT Solution:
Set [AUTO PRINT RX] to ON (MX300 / MX310)
AUTO PRINT RX
When
[AUTO PRINT RX] is set to [OFF], incoming received faxes will be
temporarily stored to memory and transaction reports (TX, RX and
Activity) remain in memory. The default setting is [ON], which means
incoming received faxes and transaction reports will automatically
print.
The fax machine will not automatically print a received fax and will store it in memory in the following conditions.
Ink is low or has run out
The paper size and type is not set correctly
Paper has run out
The Output Tray is closed
To set AUTO PRINT to ON, please follow these steps.
Press the <FAX> button to enter the Fax menu.
Press the <Menu> button. [FAX SETTINGS] is displayed
Press the left or right arrow button to select [RX SETTINGS] , then press <OK> two times.
Press the left arrow to select [ON], then press <OK>.
Note: When AUTO PRINT RX is set ON, a sub-menu will appear to PRINT WHEN NO INK.
At sub-menu PRINT WHEN NO INK, decide if you'd like the machine to continue to print incoming received faxes if ink is low.
CAUTION:
When this option is set ON, the fax machine will not monitor the ink
level of the ink cartridges. If ink is low or out, received faxes will
print with streaks or blank. Furthermore, once the fax is printed, it
will be deleted from memory.
To print received faxes when ink is low or out, press the left or right arrow to select [ON] and then press <OK>.
To
store received faxes in memory when ink is low or out, press the left
or right arrow to select [OFF] and then press <OK>.
Press the <Stop/Reset> repeatedly to return to Fax standby mode.
It's gone forever, once your machine received a EOT (end of transmission signal), your fax machine thinks it was received OK and clears it from memory.
Sounds like you have the machine set up to print reports on all occasions, fax transmission, error, etc. You can change this by doing the following: 1 Press these keys: The display will show: 4 FUNCTION TRANSACTION LIST 2 Press a number from 1 to 5 to select the condition for printing. ALWAYS PRINT A report will be printed after each transmission, reception, or error. ERR/TIMER/MEM A report will be printed after an error, timer operation, or memory operation. SEND ONLY A report will be printed after each transmission. NEVER PRINT A report will never be printed. ERROR ONLY A report will be printed only when an error occurs. To print from memory: If the memory becomes full... If the memory becomes full while the document is being scanned, MEMORY IS FULL will appear in the display. ♦ Press the START/MEMORY key if you want to transmit the pages which have been stored up to that point in memory. The remaining pages will be ejected from the feeder. After transmission, the memory will be cleared and you can transmit the remaining pages. You will also need to transmit the page which was being scanned when the memory filled up. ♦ Press the STOP key if you want to cancel the entire transmission.
