hi ; there's a problem in screen driver of your LCD, if you lost your receipt, that's bad luck. if you know how to disassemble the back case of the TV , you can try some RESETTING of connectors from LCD screen driver to display driver board
its only 50% chance to remove the line. thanks.....
unfortunatly, horizontal lines on an lcd tv, almost always mean a bad lcd panel. if it is out of warranty, it will be really cost prohibitive to replace the panel. if the set is only a year old or so call sony customer support and ask for a concession for the part.
Hi, I'm sorry, it sounds problem with lcd panel (screen) that is defective and causing lower half distorted image. If tv is under warranty then call number written on warranty documents for warranty cover or lcd panel (screen) replacement would cost you approx 80% of new tv price. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
i have a 46 inch sony bravia that i bought in 2007. recently i have noticed that the screen is showing horizontal lines (purple?) about that come and go. any advice would be greatly appreciated
We had a similar issue although our Sony Bravia was 21 months old. We were told by an engineer that the panel has failed and that the cost of replacing it would be about 900. We were also told that this is a very common fault and that the "normal" failure time was within 18mths to 3 years. If you registered your TV purchase with Sony, it might be worth contacting them with the serial number to see if you could get it repaired under guarantee. We have now bought a TV with a 5 year guarantee!!! (not a Sony!!!!)
