A very common problem w/ this set is a fuse that will open, that is located on the main board(the board w/ the tuner on it). This is a very small surface mounted fuse, it's white in color, and located at the upper right hand corner of the board, if looking at it from the back of the set. The location number is F3 and the fuse is 1.5 amp. I have seen many of these. I would definately start there.

Following your instructions, I just found that the F3 fuse was open in my Vizio Gallevia GV47L. Instead of trying to purchase that surface mounted microfuse somewhere at an Internet electronics store, I bought, today, a common 1.5 amp fast fuse at Radio Shack, plus a fuse holder. I mounted them at a free space right to the board, and soldered jumpers from the fuse holder to the top of the F3 fuse. It won't win a beauty contest, but the Vizio is working fine and well! Amount paid in parts: $4.90 (taxes included). Can supply a picture, if you wish.

Can you please send the pics and instructions on how to solder the fuse? Thank you..
    [email protected]

  • cgonz61070 Jan 28, 2011

Done!! Found the defective fuse... couldn't find the exact one at Radio Shack, but got a very small barrel one, which I solder directly on top of the defective one.
TV works perfectly... Total cost: Fuse soldering wire: $8.45 (Vizio rep. told me they could send a guy over for $385 tax!)... just incredible.
Thanks again for the great help...

I have Jandy 8157 and one touch button unit in the house does not repond but the timers still works. I can control the unit from main pannel at the filter out side. Do i need a new mother board.

take the top front panel see if the red 4 pin connector is connected and tight if so check to see if the wire has been cut (sometimes by landscapers) if connected see if you have at least 10 volts or more at the plug if so check the red plug at the controller in house if not the same bad wire if 24 to 10 volts bad controller you can also try by system with jumper wire to see if it works

HLN4365W Picture goes askew and turns to black and white.

Hi...what you are seeing is the DMD board (digital Mirror display board) going bad. And if you leave it turned on like that it will damage the DMD mirror and freeze that picture into the mirror. It will look as if someone etched it into the mirror. DMD boards can be repaired and some cannot be repaired. The DMD board can be replaced. The DMD mirror can also be replaced too.
