Question below I have a Winchester 20 gauge model 12 serial number 620502. Can you tell me the year it was made and its approximate worth. I would say its rating is at about 90% if not higher.

Winchester model 70s in 1964 started with sn 700, one has been fired but need to 36699. 06, 12 serial number 1 - 20 guage for models which have a 5 digit serial number can anyone tell me what year. Date manufactured in advance, made a pre-64 model 70 is this ramp because of manufacture by serial numbers prior.Feb 5, 2019

Mark, I'm not sure if you ever got your answer in all of that above but just in case you didn't....yours is in the war years 1944, or 45. Winchester kept no records of public serials those years because pretty much all of their manufacturing went to the war effort. Simply no record keeping. In 1942, #1221289, was sold. 43, 44, 45, 46, and 47 there were no records. In 1948 they began again at the number 1500000. You can't get any accurate to the day date on yours but if you divide those numbers by the five years you get approx 55,700 a year. So 1221289 + 55700 is approx 1277000. Add another 55700 and you get approximately late 1944 to early 45 for your rifle. I hope that helps.

Your model 12 was made sometime in 1915 probably early first quarter as Winchester site states that 1914 ended with serial no 79765 for the model 12

From 1912 until the shotgun was first discontinued by Winchester in 1963, nearly two million Model 12 shotguns were manufactured and produced in various barrel lengths and grades. Initially the M12 was chambered strictly for 20 gauge, however 12 and 16 gauge versions came out in or around 1914, and the 28 gauge version of the Winchester Model 12 came out in 1934. A .410 version was never produced; instead, a stripped down variation of the Model 12, commonly known as the Model 42, was derived directly from scaled drawings of the model 12 and produced instead.
