System not coming up, blinking caplock light - HP Pavilion dv7-1130us laptop

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS ( operating system) or a virus in the OS. Also it is possible that the back up( CMOS) has low voltage or the memory card is a suspect. In this case you need to check the voltage and also try and swap a memory card. If not the OS is a suspect.

It is also possible that the mother board is faulty but can be confirmed only after you ensure that the memory and power supply is good.

there should be three lights just to the upper right of the keyboard. experiment abit with your caplock key and watch the lights. Caplocks on for my particular keyboard is the center light as it seems to be on must keyboards.

WHENEVER YOU ARE STARTING YOUR LAPTOP LET IT BE THROUGH WITH WHATEVER IS DOING BEFORE YOU INTERFERE IN THE LOADING BECAUSE NORMALLY TURNING CAP LOCK ON WHEN STARTING OF A SYSTEM SIMPLY MEANS THE MOTHERBOARD IS OK AND YOU TRYING TO OFF THE CAPLOCK IT MIGHT NOT RESPOND TO YOUR PRESSING UNTIL IT FINISH INITIALIZING THEN BEFORE YOU CAN CORRECT ANY THING AND THE BEST SOLUTION FOR IT IF YOU KNOW IS A PROBLEM THAT IS FIGHTING YOUR SYSTEM I F THAT PERSIST THEN RELOAD YOUR SYSTEM BY REFORMATTING IT AND AFTER THAT IF OFFING THE CAPLOCK SIMPLY MEAN ON THEN THE KEYBOARD IS MALFUNCTIONING OR BEFORE REFORMATTING IT TRY USING AN EXTERNAL KEYBOARD THAT YOU WILL ATTACHED TO THE SYSTEM AT THE BACK WHERE WE HAVE THE INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICE PORT THEN TRY STARTING IT IF THE SAME IMPLIES ON THAT BEFORE YOU GO ON FORMATTING THE SYSTEM OK.

The lights are as follows from the left... Num(ber) Lock, Cap(ital) Letter Lock, Scroll Lock.

there is a light on the left top of the keyboard this is standard to all DIN keyboards, there is a capital "A" next to it.

The board not holding power,
this can be first chk the RAM press it tight.
the next is chk smps output.

Remove all drives, Modem, Wireless card and Memory, see if the error changes. If it changes, *** 1 memory module back and see if the system will POST, if no go try the other. If you can get the system to post, then add items back one at a time till you ID the broken item. and replace it. If the system never completes post during troubleshooting, then replace the motherboard.

Hi there.
Try reseating the memory again and try to boot up, if it doesn't work put the original memory back in and try again.
