By default, the video recording process will capture the sound from the mic (integrated mic), but before you start recording, check the sound settings and set the recording device to Mic. So, before you start video recording, go to sound settings, and select "Microphone" or "Mic" on the recording menu, you have to deselect all the other recording devices like, line-in, mono-mixture, stereo mixture etc.. Set the volume of the Mic and try recording again. It should work now. If you think and if you are not getting sound, try recording a sound by going to Start > All programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder. If it's not working, make changes with the mic settings and try again.
You'll also need to inspect the mic very carefully and make sure there's no obstruction on the mic-hole. Even if you keep changing the settings and don't get any sound from the mic, i would suggest you to use an external mic and try again. If it works, then the problem is with the integrated mic.
I wish you good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.
Sounds like a software issue, possibly with webam central. There's a free player that has good codecs, and it may help you. Here it is:

This will be an easy fix if it works.
