SOURCE: can't change to pulse dialing

The Vetech phone will only support tone dialing. It does have a menu option that turns tone on or off but it still will not allow pulse dialing. I had to change the phone service from pulse dialing to tone dialing to get the phones to work. As it turned out, the phone company no longer charges extra for the tone service.

SOURCE: phone went from touch tone to pulse. . .

Hello,

Read the manual to reconfigure that option. (Look for Setup button on the phone) I can't guess what model you have. On older phones one could find a switch on the the phone to flip between Tone and Pulse.

Sorry I could not be of much help.

SOURCE: The Uniden XDECT7055 Owner's Manual is unclear

Phoned Uniden - durrgggh - had the same problem - simple solution - advised them to improve the manual - is totally not clear!!!!
As below:

  • Day and time must be set in 12hr times - not 24 hrs
  • Must be set from a handset - any handset that is registerd to the base is fine
  • Follow handset instructions but make sure hours are set as 01 - press menu / select to confirm
  • Then place the handset back on its base - all other handsets and the BASE will then change to that day / time
Hope this helps

How do i remove announce only from my answering machine

First, turn on the Answering system, either with the base Answer On/Off button or the handset (Ans. Setup, Ans. On/Off). Next make sure that the memory isn't full. If the message LED reads FL, delete old messages with the handset. You'll need to press the button with the envelope/Mute on it to access the message.

Now, press Menu/Select, scroll through the menu to Ans. Setup. Select this and search for Record Time. Select this and choose the recording time of 1 or 4 minutes. Press Menu/Select again to save the setting.

This is in the manual on page 45. You can get the manual from Uniden at https://www.uniden.com/product-information/owners-manuals . Search for the DECT1580 (the last 5 indicates the number of handsets). The direct link to the manual is https://www.uniden.com/File%20Library/FooterNav/Product%20Information/Owners%20Manuals/DECT1580om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have 2 problems. 1. The orange message light will not stop flashing no matter what I do. 2. Some how the system was switched from touch tone to dial tone. I can't seem to that switched either.

Resetting the voice message waiting indicator
When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset flashes. In the event your message waiting light gets out of sync with your phone company's
voice messaging system, you can manually reset it back to the "No messages waiting" state.
1. Press and hold FiND on the base for five seconds.
Note: The handsets connected to the base will start to beep, however, keep pressing for five seconds.
2. A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.
Changing the dial mode
Your phone can communicate with the telephone network in two different ways: tone dialing or pulse dialing. These days, most base networks use a method called tone dialing, so your phone comes programmed for tone dialing. If your phone company uses pulse dialing, you will need to change your phone's dial mode. If you don't get a dial tone or can't connect to the telephone network, please follow the steps below to modify your phone's settings:
1. Press MENU/SELECT.
2. Select the Global Setup menu, and then the Dial Mode submenu.
3. Scroll to highlight Pulse.
4. Press MENU/SELECT. You will hear a confirmation tone.
If you ever need to change the dial mode back to tone dialing, follow the same procedure, but select Tone in step 3.

Finally for future ease of use, here is a link to the user manual were I copied the above information from:

How do I make the phone ring/ Also how do I delete number's/

Activating Personal Ring
You can assign special ringer tones to anyone in your phonebook. When your phone gets a call, it looks up the Caller ID information in your phonebook. If you've assigned a personal ringer to that number, the phone uses it so you know who is calling. To turn the personal ringing on or off, follow these steps:
  1. Press [Menu/Select]. Select the HANDSET SETUP menu, and then the PERSONAL RING submenu.
  2. Move the cursor to select ON or OFF.
  3. Press [Menu/Select]. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Selecting a Ring Tone (Handset only)
You may choose from four melodies or three tones for your phone's primary ring tone. Each handset can use a different ring tone or melody. The available ring tones are as listed:
  1. Press [Menu/Select]. Select the HANDSET SETUP menu, and then the RINGER TONES submenu.
  2. Move the cursor to select a ring tone. As each ring tone is highlighted, you will hear a sample.
  3. When you hear the tone you want to use, press [Menu/Select]. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Adjusting the Speaker Volume
Handset Speakerphone: You can choose from six volume levels for the handset speakerphone. To adjust the speaker volume while on a speakerphone call, press the UP Arrow button (to make it louder) or the Down Arrow button (to make it softer).
Base Speaker: You can choose from ten volume levels for the base speaker. To adjust the speaker volume while call screening or playing messages, press [volume +] (to make it louder) or [volume -] (to make it softer).

Adjusting the Audio Tone
If you aren't satisfied with the audio quality of your phone, you can adjust the Audio Tone of the earpiece while on a call. Your phone gives you three audio tone options: low, natural and high; the default setting, Natural Tone, is recommended for hearing aid users. Audio tone adjustments only apply to the earpiece, not the speakerphone.
To adjust the audio tone:
  1. While on a call, press [Menu/Select].
  2. Move the cursor to select AUDIO TONE, and then press [Menu/Select].
  3. Move the cursor to select desired option (HIGH TONE, NATURAL TONE, or LOW TONE), and then press [Menu/Select]. Selected option appears in the display for two seconds, and then the display returns to normal.
Deleting Phonebook Entries
You can delete a single phonebook entry at a time or all phonebook entries at once:
To delete a single phonebook entry:
  1. When the phone is in standby, press the phonebook key.
  2. Find the entry that you want to delete and press [Menu/Select].
  3. Select DELETE. DELETE ENTRY? appears in the display.
  4. Move the cursor to select YES.
  5. Press [Menu/Select]. You will hear a confirmation tone, and DELETED! appears in the display.
Deleting Caller ID Numbers
  1. To delete only one Caller ID number, press the Caller ID button when the phone is in standby, and then find the number you want to delete.
  2. Press [Menu/Select] and select DELETE ENTRY.
  3. When the phone asks you to confirm, select YES.
  1. To delete all the Caller ID numbers, press the Caller ID button when the phone is in standby, and then press [Menu/Select].
  2. When the phone asks you to confirm, select YES.
Note: When you delete a Caller ID number, you delete it permanently.

Deleting a Redial Record
If you want to delete a phone number from the handset's redial list, follow the steps below:
  1. When the phone is in standby, press [Redial/Pause].
  2. Use the UP Arrow button and the Down Arrow button to scroll through the redial list.
  3. When you find the redial number you want to delete, press [Menu/Select] and select DELETE ENTRY.
  4. When the phone asks you to confirm, select YES. The redial number is deleted.
Resetting the Voice Message Waiting Indicator
  1. When you receive a new voice mail message, the new message LED on the top of the handset flashes and VM appears in the handset display.
  2. In the event your message alert tone gets out of sync with your phone company's voice messaging system, you can reset back to its original "no messages waiting" state.
  3. To reset, press and hold [find hs] on the base for five seconds.
  4. A beep sounds and the message alert tone is reset.

I have a Emerson DECT 6.0 with 3 head sets and i cant get the dial tone back from pulse.

It was easy for my Emerson Dect 6.0 to be switched either rotary / pulse by just pressing the "FLASH" button for 3 seconds until it beeped. Problem solved.

Or if that doesn't work, you have to:

Tone/Pulse
You can switch the dial mode. In most situations the TONE option should be selected.

• Press the MENU button. Select BASE using <FLASH - or - CID> and press the MENU button again.

• Using <FLASH - or - CID> select DIAL MODE and press the MENU button.

• Using <FLASH - or - CID> select TONE or PULSE and press the MENU button.

OR

Press and HOLD the "<FLASH" button for approximately 3 seconds. T (Tone) or P (Pulse) appears in the display.

I have the DECT1580 cordless phone with 4 handsets. Lately, people cannot hear me when I call them. Sometimes it cuts in and out. It's happening with more than one of the handsets. Help.

Weak or Hard to Hear Audio (From the Uniden Manual)
If the caller’s voice sounds weak or soft, the signal might be blocked by large metal objects or walls; you might also
be too far from the base, or the handset’s battery may be weak.
  1. Try adjusting the volume of the earpiece (see page 36) or the audio tone
  2. Try moving around while you’re on a call or moving closer to the base to see if the sound gets louder.
  3. Make sure the handset’s battery is fully charged.
