LX6 Hand controller....error message - Meade 8" LX90 LNT Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope with SmartFinder w/ FREE UPS

Plug the wireless reciever into a different USB port.

This means that the hand control has lost communication with the electronics board within the base of the telescope. The number following this message will indicate the address of the component that has lost communication. 16 indicates the azimuth or RA motor board, 17 the altitude (declination) motor board. Unfortunately, this number doesn't tell why the error has occurred.

To clear the no response messages, repeatedly press UNDO. This fix may be only temporary and does not address the potential underlying problem.

You may want to send it in/return it for repairs.

open mouse folder inside control panel and check everything in all tabs.... definitely you have to work with keyboard to reach there , use tab and alt buttons to choose option,to check in acheckbox you have to press the alphabet which is underlined in a sentence near checkbox.

This is a very old LX6 telescope. I have never seen a schematic on the internet. Except for these articles:

Finally, you can post a message on the Yahoo LX90 and LX200 group and ask for help from either Dr. Clay, or Ron Sampson. Both of these folks repair Meade brand telescopes.

This is a very old Meade SCT telescope. You can try contacting Meade customer service but I would doubt that they still have parts??

So, go to the Yahoo Groups LX200 forum and join and ask questions. Someone may have that model Meade SCT. Also there are people on the forum that can repair the circuits in the hand controller if something is blown.

Aardvark had went out of buisness about 3 to 4 years ago. Unfortunately they didn't last long enough to write a driver for vista. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I love aardvark I had the LX6 and still have the 24/24 and Q10. Too bad they only work up to XP. Sorry. driverguide.com still has the XP driver.

The motors have encoder wheels, that pulse when the motor turns, to tell the computer that everything is OK, and to indicate its position. If the wheel is loose on the shaft, then errors are indicated. A second point of error, is dirt in the wheel slots that disturb the sensing, or the optical pickup is bad.

My scope sat in a basement for years and when I started it up I got an error the same as you discribe. Through sear luck I found it to be a bad connection where the encoder wire pluged into the battery box.

Hy Idont I can help you with vista but I`ve got Aardvark direct pro lx6 and no drivers for XP. I cant find it in the internet. Could you tell me where can i find it?
