Samsung TV: lamp out

Samsung TV: HLP4663WX/XAA
Lamp Code: BP96-00826A(P)
No picture . . . no light from lamp
On/Off Switch: ''lamp'' and ''Stand By Temp''

Should I replace the lamp?

Is it worth fixing . . . TV looks clean

Thank you for your excellent answer.
After comment last night I installed lamp with enclosure into the tv. I noticed at the opening there was a little cable and connector that was not plugged in. I plugged it in and closed the back plastic cover thereby setting the cover open switch. THEN I turned on the front power switch AND WAITED 20 SECONDS and the picture appeared. It has been working fine since then.

    Thanks

Samsung HLP4663WX/XAA picture went out, started making strange noise, all lights on power button came on.

Sounds likea bad color wheel to me, or possibly a lamp has blown. If the noise is a humming sound--it is the CW--if you hear a "sound like a sizzle, for a few seconds and then normal, and this repeats a few times--the lamp has blown.

I don't have the manual handy at the moment. but if you look in the owner's manual you should see that this is the code for either a lamp or fan problem. I will look it up myself later, but check the manual. This could be as simple as replacing the lamp.
