This is usually caused by dirt inside the light engine. it needs to be sent in to sony or a rebuild company to be cleaned or replaced. not user/operator repair....

Thats caused by a bad optical block. The cost of that repair will almost always be greater than replacing the TV.Thats a very common issue with alot of Sony DLP models which suffered that optical block issue with the blobs of color usually blue or green
Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem.Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together.When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines.You will need to replace the light engine you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/SONY-1-788-302-21-p/1175790.htm?Click=48173 . The sounds like the light engine is bad. Sony is notorious for blobs because of the three LCD chip inside consisting of a red, green, and blue chip. The light from the lamp is reflected and then combined back together to form a brilliant picture. Unfortunately one of the chips is bad, or has melted due to extreme heat from the lamps. This can cause the color blobs on the screen. A lot of people experience blue or green blobs in the center or on the sides of their sets.
Please adjust TINT control of Video Settings in Menu that will adjust color tone of TV. I do not think this problem is related with Lamp because TV screen does not have any color blobs or spots. Above solution is for Sony KDF-55WF655 model TV, if your model number is different, let me know. Thanks.
check to see if your green and red lamps are lighting. if they are not then go to your convergence board and check to see if you are getting the right voltages. the voltages are written on the circuit board on some tv's. i believe that you are having problems with your convergence.
