Front assembly replacement

Has anyone ever replaced a front cover assembly on a Kodak Z612? I have the part but I haven't attempted to take apart my camera yet. Any advice? How hard is it?
Thanks!

Viewfinder won't open

Hello, I don't have the manual for your Z612 in front of me at the moment but does this model not have a small button marked EVP/LCD
near the LCD screen ? If you press the button it should switch from the LCD screen to the viewfinder.

I have a kodak Z612 can you replace the LCD screen??

Yes. There is a website called virtualvillage dot com that has screens for most Kodak cameras. They only cost about a third as much as compared to buying from Kodak. It only takes about half an hour to change it and only simple handtools are needed, nothing special.

Horizontal banding on kodak z612 photos

if theres always a lines on the your photos it means that the camera is already defective, I strongly suggest Do not Dismantle the Lens, what you can do is to call kodak toll free 1 800 235 6325 and ask them to send your camera on their Repair center., Gudluck!

Kodak EasyShare Z612 Digital Camera Error #803

This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth (heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning. Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it doesn't work for you, check the Kodak troubleshooting guide at:

http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/repair/troubleshooting/troubleshooting.jhtml?pq-path=6198

It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

Replacement Battery Cover Assembly

If you're handy, you can replace it in about 3 minutes. Don't attempt it unless you're willing to risk tearing a thin flexible circuit under the rear cover. Looking at the camera from the rear, remove the screws on the right hand side ( 2 ? ) then the screws across the bottom - open the card door, remove the card, and wedge a knife blade between the front and rear cover halves - the card door will be loose with an attached spring coming free. No need to remove the rear housing completely, just enough to expose the tracks for the battery cover hinge. Remove the old door, noting the position of the opening spring at the hinge, by angling one hinge out first. Insert the new battery cover and the card door in reverse order.
