Vocals missing while playing with 2 speakers

You want to connect the JBL's to the yamaha using standard speaker wire. Get a few HDMI cables and run one from the blu ray to the yamaha and from the yamaha to the tv. To use the JBL's for watching tv, get an optical cable or coaxial cable (either will work) and connect that from the tv to the yamaha and you are all set.

First do not panic by seeing all sockets in the back side of the receiver.You can connect 5 speakers and one subwoofer on the speaker A switch and maybe a second pair of stereo speakers on the B switch.All the speaker sockets have red and black terminals, so do all speakers. Just get decent cables ( You can buy a whole connection Kit if you want ) and connect the corresponding outlets to you speakers.If you have a powered subwoofer connect the subwoofer input to a socket labeled Subwoofer pre out on the RXV. You will need a RCA to RCA cable for that Next you will need a coaxial or Optic fiber cable to connect a DVD player digitally. The back of the DVD player will have a socket marked coaxial out, and so does the RXV's backside. Just link them .
Turn on the system everything should work. If you are not getting DVD sound there is small button on the RXV front panel called Digital input -- set it to auto ( keep pressing the button and it will scroll through various modes). Also remember to switch on speaker A on the front panel.

I used to get noise as well. It turned out to be that one of the cables to the speakers was loose. Try tightening the cable connections to the Yamaha and to the speakers.

u can make connections only through digital inputs(optical and coaxial). u can connect the digital outputs of ur dvd and cable set top box to the receiver. no way to connect HDMI. HDMI is a high definition media interface. for using it u have to go for a av receiver that supports HDMI.

Hi, as per yamaha site RX-V459 doesn't have the DOCK connector which is used by YDS-11 dock (or the bluetooth module). This is the only possibility to connect the YDS-11. YDS nor receiver don't have USB connector and they are not needed.
For example RX-V465 does have DOCK connector and supports YDS-11.
For your receiver, you can use only analog audio cable with your iPod.

the RX-V365 cannot process the audio from the HDMI input. You will also need to connect a seperate audio input (either coaxial or optical) into the relevant input in the rear of the RX-V365

The Sony DVP-N67P is a standalone DVD player which was produced solely for the Indian market with two analogue left and right audio outputs (phono sockets) and coaxial and optical digital outputs.

You cannot fit speakers directly to this unit, instead you must fit an amplifier with suitable matching input sockets and a connecting lead and then fit whatever speakers suit the amplifier. The amplifier and speakers can be of any brand, they do not have to be Sony.

You need to first check whether your dvd player supports dolby 5.1. If it supports that then you could connect the digital output of your dvd player to a surround receiver such as Yamaha RX-661. You can then connect all the speakers to the output of RX-661 which has 7 inbuilt amplifiers for all the channels. Its a 7 channel receiver and would be useful with DVD-Audio and such that comes in 7 channels. For your requirement any 5 channel receiver will do. Yes, these speakers need an amplifier. So unless your DVD player features an amplifier, then you will need separate 5.1 receiver, for example Yamaha RX-V365 or RX-V465 (which supports audio via HDMI input).

You need a coax to RCA converter. Do a google search, Belkin makes one, Radio Shack probably has one too.
