What is the machine model number so I don't waste your time or mine. If it's a FAV6800A or FAV9800A I can help you.
If you pull the power to the machine while the machine is filling with water will the water stop flowing?
marka19 we are in a model specific forum. I would need to know the model number and s/n of the posters machine. I watched the vid and I know the FAV6800A/FAV9800A machine very ell and the vid would not get the forum member even close to solving the over fill issue for a FAV6800A or FAV9800A machine.
A true DIY Washer repair forum will ask for Model Number and S/N before you post any comments for support.

“”yes the water stops model#FAV6800AWW ser#1054171633 please help “” OK that tells us the Water Inlet Valve is not stuck open and closes preventing water flow with no 120VAC to those solenoids. A very basic 101 first step in troubleshooting an Overfill condition.
Rich I’m an owner like you not a repair person. We are going to get into some DIY stuff to fault isolate the issue. I’m sure it is the pressure switch as the other forum member mentioned but these folks need to understand the machine and not just throw out general statements. Unless you enjoy Easter Egg hunts…… I’m too old for that stuff and I’m sure you are also.
Your FAV6800A is a Series 10 machine that’s the 1st two digits of your S/N.
Here is the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.
If you pressure switch is defective your Series 10 machine uses a 3 level pressure switch for water fill level sensing. We are going to check for pressure switch transitions in Service Mode as we add water to the wash basket. No matter who you order the pressure switch from make sure they know the Pressure Switch needed is for a Series 10 FAV6800A machine. The two P/N’s are 25001053 which I believe is for the 3 level sensing pressure switch but check and 25001204 for Series 12 and above again check with the parts supplier against your S/N.
This forum is message length restrictive so I may have to add additional comments.
OK before we spend any money for parts let’s confirm the fail point.
Go in to Service Mode by pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”
Go to page 16 of the Service Manual lower right hand corner. Follow the steps to enter into Board Functional Test Input Control
You will bucket fill the wash basket with cold water and check if the Pressure Switch transitions go from 0 to _1 for Low fill, 0 to -1 for mid fill and I can’t type do the 0 to _-1 upper fill you get the point.
My FAV6800A series 10 machine transitions to low _1 with very little water in the wash basket. I transition to -1 for about 3.5 inches of water in the wash basket and 7 inches of water or around the horizontal ring in the wash basket for High fill level trip point. Do you see any transistion from 0 to _1, -1, or the upper -1 for the bucket fills?
If it is not I would check to make sure the connector is seated on the pressure switch which sits on top of the Drain Pump.
It’s in a very difficult location to get too. In this pic the pressure switch is shown sitting on top of the drain pump. To get it out you would have to remove the drain pump.
In this pic I show the Pressure Switch sitting on top of the Drain Pump with the Outer Tub removed for a Outer Bearing replacement job.
See if this helps.
Another pic of the Pressure Switch wit front cover removed.
Rich follow all safety instructions in the Service Manual and power down/disconnect the washer 120VAC power cord before going into the machine.
I go by D*ick but this forum auto detects that as a badddddddddddd word.. So let me know if I can help………Rich
Forgot to add you can empty the water in the Wash Basket/Outer Tub by going into Service Mode and turning on the drain pump or select a Spin Only cycle for a couple of minutes then hit the Off buton.

The problem is the pressure switch has failed or the hose is plugged up, has a hole in it. These are usually inexpensive and are very easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/toppressureswitchvideo.html this will walk you thru the inspection and replacement of this part. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available.

Try resetting your water level control. If that doesn't help then set the water level control to the lowest setting and observe if level exceeds that setting. If so, you may possibly have a faulty water level control, or an obstruction in the air dome or water level control hose. This can be a tricky 1 to diagnose for a novice.

In yor machine control panel you have A part called a pressure switch or water level switch. that controls the water level and tells the timer to start aggitating .If the part is bad the machine will over fill and keep running the water!!
SOURCE: water keeps going and overflows
Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly
You will have to open the top panel for steps below
Water level control is handled by the water level pressure switch inside the top panel. It is about 3.25 inches in diameter, has 3 wires connected to it and a hose that looks like a small vacuum line.
Check that vacuum looking line for any holes, kinks or disconnects.
You will need about 3 feet of the same knid of line available from any autoparts store for this test.
Remove the machine side hose and connect the 3 ft hose you just obtained. DO NOT drop the machine hose into the machine.
Place the timer on the wash cycle and start the cycle
Result = fill
Force air into the hose orally until you hear a click.
Result = fill stop agitation begin
If it does not pass this test then the pressure switch is bad.
If water never stops flowing the water inlet valve has debris internally and will probably have to be replaced.
Don't forget to reconnect the machine side hose to the pressure switch.
Thanks for using FixYa!
Kelly
Then remove the vacuum
