The tweeter of my mackie srm 450 V2 makes a quite loud noise (humm). this nois was there right from the beginning, and mackie told me, that this was usual....the older 450´s did not make this kind of noise. you don´t hear it, when playing with the band, but when I play my e-piano over a 450 and sit next to the box (1meter), it is really annoying. I guess, that´s the price of "made in china", isn´t it.... I´m gonna sell my mackies and get me a system from dynacord or hk audio!

The latest 450v2 include this metal portion 1 to isolate AC lines over IC's, metal part 2 is include in all versions, some technician remove them and that creates more hum at idle levels, by having both the latest 450v2's are the quietest of the v2's.
V1 did not use switching power supply, they use discrete circuit and that is why they are a bit quieter

Hi, two things can cause the loud noise (humm).

The cables and the connection of power.

Cable can humm if it's not well fixed or the due to placing heavy object on it can cause damage to cables.Trouble shoot all cable by use a meter to read all cables( use the continuity function).

When a studio is not well connected in terms of power, you are likely to hear hum sounds.

Check the socket plugs and see if the earth wire is connected. That can cause hum too.

Good luck.

Need spec on Mckenzie loud speakers 12'' dual cone 85 watts rms

What\'s the question, are you asking about eyebolts, SRM 450 or McKenzie speakers?

Let\'s assume speakers. These are quite nice vintage speakers and were fitted in a number of units back in the day. Depending on the use they are going to be put to you\'ll need to find the dimensions of similar boxes for the same use and speaker size from (ideally) makers who used these speakers or something similar. It\'s going to be a bit suck it and see and will also depend on if you are looking to use an infinate baffle, sealed or vented enclosure.

Mackie SRM 450, the main speaker has stopped working but the tweeter is OK, there is nothing coming from the speaker at all, no hiss, or clicks.

It could be 2 things:

*Blown Speaker or,
*Fried power amp output stage of woofer, since this speaker operates as a bi-amplified system it has separate amps for woofer/tweeter...

ONLY GETTING MUFFLED SOUND FROM ONE OF MY MACKIE SRM V2 SPEAKERS,HAVE CHANGED DIAPHRAM BUT PROBLEM STILL THERE

If you've changed the tweeter and the sound is still muffled the fault is with the HF amp, or the cross-over. You will have to send the amp assembly for repair as it is all surface mount components in there -nothing you will be able to fix yourself. Sorry for the bad news!

Hello there i have a mackie srm 450 speaker system and im not getting any high end tweeter sounds just bass only what coule be the problem manay thanks Paulie

The most common cause of this is a blown horn. A replacement can be ordered from Mackie directly. Remove the screws that hold the plastic horn in place. At the rear of this part will be the tweeter assembly that unscrews from the horn. This needs to be replaced.

Another possibility is that the tweeter driver has broken from the horn itself and is inside the cabinet. Remove the horn and you may find that the aluminum part has broken. Replace the horn which comes with that part and you should be fine.

Need a replacement tweeter for mackie srm 450 where can i find one

Go to the link below to either locate a dealer near you for the part or to contact Mackie directly for the part. Please note that the diaphragm may be available as a separate part. Do you need the entire tweeter or just hte diaphragm?

Mackie SRM-450 tweeter distorts sound

I'd just order a new diaphragm and see if that's the problem before any other dismantling. If that's not the problem, I'd take it to a certified repair shop. The fact that it's still working but not producing certain frqs, tells me you won't be able to see the problem with the naked eye.
