Ip 3000 canon showing service error 5100, tried to reset but still flashes amber. Tried nearly everything. Cartridges still full

Likely to be a bad Print Head according to this and seems a known issue.

If yes, Try to follow these instruction:
Steps to Fix Error 5100 In the Canon IP- Printer:

1. Turn the printer off
2. Remove the cartridge from the printer
3. Use a cloth moistened with alcohol to clean the surface of the contact / connector terminal cartridge that touches the printer / could also use a pencil eraser
4. Replace the second Cartridge
5. Turn on the printer.

Canon is a greedy company. It may be selling cheap printers, but the company is so obsessed is exploiting the consumers by selling its ink cartridges that is unusually high. Please boycott Canon printers and let this greedy Japanese company fall into pieces.

5100 is service error. just follow this steps to fix this,
1. Hold RESUME then press & hold POWER
2. Release RESUME, then press it twice, the light should go amber then green again.
3. you're now in service mode (you can release POWER now)

for reset waste tank reset is 4 presses of the RESUME button. To confirm, press POWER once.

E 5100 in all canon it's mean waste ink counter reset you can try reset it by trying use another way in canon Ip like Ip 1500 or Ip 2000 by using general tools

ERROR 5100 means that there is some foreign object blocking your ink cartridge carriage that disables it from moving. It may be a piece of paper or a scotch tape or a staple wire. You may try cleaning also the encoder strip with a moist tissue paper. Furthermore, you may also try cleaning CAREFULLY the contact points of the cartridge holder and the cartridge itself (those shiny bronze pins) with a moist lint-free cloth.

Try this... it worked on my MP450... Turn the printer on and open the lid, it shows the cartridges. Now let the cartridges settle to the left. You can notice that the cartridges run on a metal belt. It might be dirty, mine showed a black stripe on it. Take a cloth, a cleenex will be fine and clean it up. Move the cartridges to the right (force them with your hand) and clean the part of the belt left behind them. Now turn it off, close it up and turn it back on. It should work
