if you know were the vent is at from out side, then yes use a cloths hanger end of it hooked or you may want to try vacuming it out is there any othere felter screens on dryer please unplug before working on it or turn off breaker to it.
Your heating element could be out. This could be just a bad element or if you don't hear the fan come in the the dry cycle, the fan probably failed and caused the element to burn out.
If your clothes are getting warm but not drying completely then you need to check your exhaust hose and make sure it is not clogged with lint.
We had the same problem with our splendide 2100 top loader. If you remove the top cover, you will find 2 circular like black discs (the size of a dime) on the right hand side about 6 inches from the front. You need to push those down (with a very small blunt object) to reset them. Please make sure that you unplug your washer/dryer before you attempt this. Good luck.
