Looking for a schematic diagram

I want to convert the external headphone jack to drive external loudspeakers.
I also need to know which screws to remove to get the back of the cabinet off to access the internal speakers and the jack.

It would be less trouble to disable the internal speakers from the television's setup menu and connect to a set of powered speakers or a receiver using the built-in audio outputs. It will be a challenge to get good sound quality and levels from the headphone jack.

Low volume

1)Make sure volume is at maximum level. check down right hand side of your desktop. 2)Make sure speakers(headphones) volume is at maximum. 3) If problem continues check your speaker( connect it to other pc), and headphone as well. 4) If problem continues try reinstalling audio driver.

My amp isn't producing any sound. It works when headphones are in but that's it. Please help

The headphones socket is on the preamp stage - it works so the problem must be after the pre-amp.
Do you get any sound at all from the speakers (hiss or perhaps a click) when you turn it on?
If yes it is an amplifier problem.
Here are some possible causes
  • A wire has come off the loudspeaker - easy to fix
  • Speaker protection fuse has blown - small glass fuse mounted on main amplifier chassis - replace with correct rated and type of fuse (note some of these are 'slow' blow type - important that you get the right one)
  • faulty component in the main amplifier stage - requires attention from qualified repairer
  • Loudspeaker burnt out - this can be tested by connecting another speaker across the terminals of the built in speaker.
  • The headphone jack socket automatically disconnects the loudspeaker when phones are plugged in - it could be that the contact in the headphone jack socket is bent and not re-making contact when the headphones are unplugged.

Adding remote control activated ''mute'' to TV headphone jack

Generally when the head phone jack is inserted the speakers will get disconnected automatically.

If you are going to use external amplifier you can try the AV sockets. Opening the TV you may require the special screw drivers some times.

Intermittent audio...picture fine

Does this model have a headphone jack? If so, plug a pair of headphones or external speaker into the jack, turn the volume to an acceptable listening level and see if the problem goes away. If so, the headphone jack may be bad.

Headphones with mic / external speakers

Does your computer have front audio ports? If so, you can just plug it in there. Otherwise you need a single male 2 dual female converter to plug into the speaker port.

GE TV set has picture but no sound model GE09GP106

If the set has a headphone jack, have you tried plugging in a set of headphones?

If the sound works on the headphones, you may have a bad internal speaker.

If you don't get any sound in the headphones, the audio amplifier may have failed as it drives both the headphone jack & speaker.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!

Headphones

This TV does not have a headphone socket, which is unusual. There are audio outputs (RCA phono) which may be used with an amplifier or tape deck to drive the headphones.
