I have a Sony KDS-R60XBR2 60" SXRD and the power/standby light has recently starting flashing and the picture and sound blank out. it does it for about 30 seconds and then picture comes back on slowly and then the sound comes back. I can't find any mention of what blinking green power/standby light means.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Hello The power supply regulator board has the fault. There ie no repair to this board. You have to replace it as card basis. This is the picture of the said power supply board to your Sony TV.
The service manual lists 3 blinks as the light cover not being secure. it has a micro switch behind the cover so if you hold down the switch you can see if this is the problem.
If lamp light on Sony TV front start flashing that means Lamp is dead and need to be replaced.
Lamp replacement is easy and procedure would be written in user manual of TV.
Does anything start to work? Any of the three fans start to turn, Lamp ignite, etc., when you press the power button or does nothing happen before the Red LED starts blinking. How many times does the RED LED blink?
