Remove all power sources, ac adapter and main battery if you have one. Then disconnect RTC battery for 30 seconds. It is located under the tear shaped cover on bottom of computer. Reconnect RTC battery and ac adapter but DO NOT PUT BACK THE MAIN BATTERY until you have reset the date and time.
The best way for the Sony is to remove the cmos battery for at least 30 minutes. Remove the main laptop battery and leave it out. Make sure the power adapter is not attached. The cmos battery can be reached after removing the keyboard and is attached to the motherboard vis a small cable. If you have a "jumper" that come equipped on hard drives to jump the pins on the back, you can "short" the pin connections on the cmos battery socket, power the laptop up using the ac adapter and letting the computer go through the bootup process. When this happens power the laptop back down, take the jumper off and replace the cmos battery. Power back on with just the ac adapter and boot the computer. If the laptop still askes for a bios password just hit enter and it should allow you to log in. Once in go into the bios and reset the date and time. Once that is done power down and replace the main battery. Reboot the laptop and let Windows load.
You have an IC (Integrated Circuit) that has shut off internally. Try complete power down (remove any electrical power - includes any internal batteries) overnight. Then try again. If this doesn't work, it's an IC malfunction.
1. Turn off the laptop 2. Disconnect AC adapter 3. Remove battery pack, and remove the keyboard 4. Remove the battery (located underneath the keyboard, the red/white wire) 5. Leave it for about 30 - 60 mins. 6. Reconnect the battery and reassemble the laptop 7. Reconnect AC adapter (Don't put in the battery pack yet!) 8. Turn on the computer and press F10 to enter the BIOS 9. Set the new BIOS password and save all settings. 10. Turn off the laptop and reinsert the battery
If this does not work you can try and check out a manual for your laptop here.
Many people buy electronics and never read the manual.
The first thing to do before operating an electronic device is to
read the manual, is for the best. I have had this unit for two years now
and have no problems with it. The most commond mistake people make
with this portable DVD is that they plug in the lighter without removing
the battery. You can't charge the battery with the lighter adapter and
you must remove the battery before you turn it on.
