My screen went black out of nowwhere but you could hear the TV and still change the channel. Slowly the sound went off as well and there is no picture. Is TV done? It's only 4 years old

yes, by canging the bulb. it proboly went out while the television was already dead. you can try but i would hire a proffesional. it may cost 100$ or more.
If it is not a hardware problem, it is most likely the Closed Captioning system. If you can still see the on-screen menu, go into your TV's menus and disable Closed Captioning.
How did the cable person hook up the cable? Was it thru an rf connector and you need to put the tv on A channel . Or are there video and audio cables from the cable box to the tv? We need to have more info please. Thanks
