My whirlpool ultimate care 2 washer will low spin but will not high spin do you have any suggestions to fix this

    mine is doing the same thing; it will wash but it won't spin

    i have the ultimate care II and the spin cycle is moving so slowly. i have to spin loads several times in order to have them ready for the dryer. help!

1..all water gone clean pump trap and check blocked drain
2....somehting stopping drum spin drum freely by hand.
3....too much soap use low suds soap and very little of it.
4....motor brushes wearing out...call for service for this one.

Your basket drive is grabbing. the only way to stop that is to locate the clutch and the tube directly above it is your basket drive put a little white lithium up there. but not in the clutch. this will solve that problem. But if you do not know what you are looking for this will be difficult to locate.

Will not high spin
The brake assembly is failing ,try this if you can,loosen the 3 transmission bolts about a quarter inch and try it in spin.If it picks up speed than you are going to be due to have the break assembly replaced.High cost repair. :(
