Problem was found in Micorsoft excel 2003. When I copy the formula from one (original) cell to another (new) cell, the formula in the new cell has updated but the value show on the new cell was the amount on the original cell, I need to go into the new cell and click on the formula and then "enter", the correct value will be showed after this step ? eg. 1. Original cell (C5) formula is H5 - G5, amount is $200 2. New cell (C6), the copied formula is H6 - G6, amount should be $500 but show as the $200. I need to go into the Cell (C6), click on the formula and then press "enter", the correct value $500 will be showed after this step

When i copy a sum formula in excel the first cell does not remain the same it increments by 1. how can I prevent this?

There are 2 types of direct cell references that you can use when you're writing formulas: Relative References & Absolute References.
A Relative Reference is the address of a cell (e.g. A5). When a Relative Reference in a formula is copied from one cell to another, the Reference gets changed automatically. e.g. If you put a formula in cell c5 as A5+1, when you copy this from c5 to c6 the formula A5+1 will automatically change to A6+1.
An Absolute Cell Reference does not change when its copied to another location. As in the example above if the formula in cell C5 is written as $A$5+1, if you copy this formula from C5 to C6 it will remain as $A$5+1 (NOT change to $A$6+1.
The $ sign signifies Absolute, and can be applied to the Row reference, the Column reference, or both Column & Row (as in the example).

I need to add a year to dates on excel spread sheet there are more than 440 diffrent dates....Please help?

I assume that the dates you want adjust are in date form and are in regular columns (or rows).
If so, then you can use a formula like this =DATE(YEAR(A3)+1,MONTH(A3),DAY(A3))
where the original date is in cell A3.
You can then copy this formula to calculate all the new dates you need, and then copy the results back over the original dates as VALUES.

Not able to scroll on my excel sheet

It's only in Excel you can't scroll? Can you scroll from side to side? If you have Excel 2003, try to press the "window" tab on the top and if the freeze pane is checked, uncheck it. Or if it says unfreeze pane, press that one. Hope this helps :)

When I enter a formula the cell displays the formula and not the result. For instance, I type: =left(L27,13) Instead of showing me the 13 leftmost characters in cell L27, it shows ''=left(L27,13)''. Any...

You can change this under the Excel, options menu. Select the advanced option and uncheck the option to "Show Formulas in cells instead of their calculated value", or you can jjst press Ctrl + `
This will either turn on or off the show formula option.

Copy formulas

It should work if you just copy and paste it. Or select the range of your working area and right click in destination cell and choose paste special. When new window pop up, just choose Formula.

It should work usually, but by any chance you've encountered the problem regarding this. Just let me know...i'll try to help you...

Countifs

The formula in both versions is the same:

=countif(range,value)

i.e. The below formula will increase its count by one if any of the 18 cells it's checking are equal to 1.
=countif(A1:B9,1)

Formula for copy multiple cells at a time

You'll want to use the IF formula, its syntax goes like this: =IF(condition to be met, value if true, value if false)

If you want to use text for the true/false values, you'll need to put the term in quotes.

Example, lets say you want to know if 260+G$2+F60+$X$99+$A25 is equal to 1024, then the formula would be: =IF(260+G$2+F60+$X$99+$A25=1024,"True","False")
