22" Ensigna TV. Every time that this tv is turned on the first settings box Questions pop up. I have answered all of the questions several different times using a combination of answers and it still pops up. I have to use the "exit" to get it off. How do you get this off and stay off?

Ok, I see for some reason this question is listed several times with somewhat different wording---I have a suggestion for you which may sound silly but can resolve your problem if what I think is wrong is wrong:

Take a look at this link, it is a question similar to yours and the answer cured the problem in this set----worth trying and cannot hurt--I would not do it in the house as a lot of dust is likely to be in set.

Hello TRH12300, there is a few things missing to be able to completely answer your question, for example when the TV goes black can you still hear the audio? What is the color of the power indicator light at the bottom of the screen? What is the model # you are talking about. This could be several thing with the most common one being the inverter board but with out knowing the model # I cannot tell you if it is a LIPS (power/invert board), inverter board itself, or it can also be the T-Con board or the main board. What I can do is please send me an email answering all the questions asked here to [email protected] so I can help answer your questions and get your TV back up and running in no time. Also once we are done please rate my answer.

Comcast uses at least 11 different remote controls. I referred to the manuals listed on their remote control page for instructions on programming the three Comcast-branded remote units:

Comcast Universal Remote (Red OK/Select button)
Sylvania LCD TV codes: 20000, 20035, 20043, 20081, 20593, 21593, 21781
Procedure:

1. Turn on the TV.
   
2. Press the TV button once.
3. Press and hold the Setup button until the TV button blinks twice, then release Setup.
4. Enter a five-digit code from the list. If this is done correctly, the TV button will blink twice. If you enter an invalid code, the TV button will produce one long flash and the remote control will exit the program mode.
5. Aim the remote control at the TV and press the Power button. If you have the correct code, the TV will turn off. If not, repeat steps 2-6 with a different code.

If none of the codes work, you can try the code search procedure:

1. Turn on the TV.
2. Press and hold TV. Press and hold Setup until the TV button light blinks twice, then release Setup.
3. Press 9-9-1. The TV light will blink twice.
4. Press and release the digit 1. The TV key will blink twice. Press the Power key.
   
5. Aim the remote control at the TV. Press CH+ until the TV turns off. You may have to press numerous times until the remote control finds the right code in its library. Stop when the TV turns off.
   
6. When the TV turns off, press Setup once to lock in the code set. The TV light will blink twice.

Procedure:

1. Turn on the TV.
   
2. Press the TV button once.
3. Press and hold the Setup button until the TV button blinks twice, then release Setup.
4. Enter a four-digit code from the list. If this is done correctly, the TV button will blink twice. If you enter an invalid code, the TV button will produce one long flash and the remote control will exit the program mode.
5. Aim the remote control at the TV and press the Power button. If you have the correct code, the TV will turn off. If not, repeat steps 2-6 with a different code.

I have run into the same problem with a different model (32 inch from Circuit City). You may have found that there is almost no support from the co or web. I do not have an official solution but have some work arounds that have done the job for me.
WA#1 = after a channel scan tune to a HD/digital channel before you turn the set off. You need to do this each time for several times, because the set when turned on to a regular cable or analog station will default to skip all channels. After several times the set should remember your channels.
WA#2 = after a channel scan, go to the skip channel section of the menu, and if your remote has the colored buttons on the bottom scroll through the channels using the red and green (up and down on this menu) buttons. This apparently helps the set remember not to skip your scanned channels.
These are not glamorous solutions but appear to trick the TV into not re-setting the skip function for the channels.

the problem is common go into menu and go to text you have to shut it off. each tv is set up a little differant ,
you will have to be patient but im sure that is your answer.

error code 22 is a short protect circuit. this means the tv has found a problem in the tv and will not let it turn on till fixed. this could be several different circuits in the tv that is causing this. we need to test some parts to see what this is. the most common is a shorted convergence circuit. a repair on this would range around 400.00. You should check using a multimeter and also you should be good at soldering

PS:I strongly advice if you don't have experience in electronics then better leave this job to a tech
