My Panasonic SDR-H18 will not power up, even when I have it plugged into the wall charger. I thought the battery was dead but that's not the case...any solutions other then tossing it in the garbage. I have about 3 hours of video on it that I MUST retrieve.

It sounds like a bad battery. If you have another battery, or a direct power plug for the camera, try those to determine if the camera itself functions. If so, you can safely assume the battery is the problem. If the power plug works but not a different battery, you may have dirty or corroded contacts where the battery attaches to the camera. If changing the battery works, the old one should be returned if under warranty, recycled if not, or you could leave it on the charger for several hours to see if it can complete a charge at all. If not, get a new battery.

This is usually caused by a failed component in the power circuit within the camera and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Should be a cable either "Firewire" or "USB" plug it into to your computer and your PC should see the camera. Then you can drag the files to your PC

I accidentally connected wrong ac adapter and to Panasonic dvd camcorder and it will not turn on.....Hopefully this can be corrected??

I had a look and it looks like a regular mini usb cable that you need to connect to your laptop, or a regular mini firewire cable, both are available online for under $10 or at a local electronics store

The camera end of the cord should be a "standard" plug same as fits some/most digital still cameras and at least some cell phones.

If your camera is like my SDR-H200, you have to remove the battery and run the camera with the AC adapter, and the USB cord goes into a little trapezoid-shaped hole in the lower-rear part of where the battery was.
