Sounds like the jack is faulty tghe cable has been pulled and the wire probably stripped off connectors. if you can access a electronics or audio shop purchase a new jack these are cheap and you will need to cut the end off the cable there should be three wires an earth and a left and right cable these will need to be resoldered on the new jack plug.. make sure it is a stereo jack...!!.the best way to solder is to gently heat the cable end and dab a bit of solder on each before trying to attach to the jack. then when you come to connect the jack end lightly touch the connector and cable together with solder iron and solder..good luck A

Samsung i577 has no audio on incoming and outgoing calls

ear speaker might be bad; did you try the hands free and still no sound.
Another is plug you ear piece into the jack and see if you have sound; you do then the ear piece speak may need to be replaced.

14 month old Ultimate Ears 700s and the jack has turned faulty. I can wiggle it around to get both phones to work, but, once I remove my hand from the jack, the right phone goes out. Is this fixable? ...

It is for sure that the wires have come out of the jack connection. This normally happens as the wires are always moved around as your plug and change.
The easy way out for you is to approach any electronics service center who can easily splice off the wires and put in a NEW jack which must be soldered.
This job can be done if you are able to handle a soldering iron and get to solder the jack with the connection on either terminals- just any tech will guide you to do this very easily.

The left earbud of my Bose in-ear headphones doesn't have sound

You probably need to replace the stereo plug on the end that goes into the jack. Most of them are molded on unfortunately but it can be done with a new jack and some soldering skills. There have been lots of people with the same problem on this site so there are already some good explanations of how to do this on here.

Sound only in right ear

Its either the jack or the connector in the device is the problem. You can try connecting other headphone, if this works, then the problem lies on the jack of the old headphone.

My guitar hero world tour drum kit is broken

If you know how to solder, you can resolder the wire back onto the connector. I just did that tonight actually. the orange cymbal has a white wire and a black/bare copper wire. You can cut open the male connector [I use an exact-o knife along the underside mold line] (one side only) so you can just slide the wires/connector back into it. The white would solder onto the base of the male connector. The bare copper thats wrapped around the white one is the black/bare copper wire mentioned above. This one is soldered to the tip [the solder point inside that small black plastic piece] of the connector. Once you have it soldered, just slip the male connector rubber piece back into place and use some super glue to glue back together.I wrap it in electrical tape just so its definitely secured. If wire length is an issue, simply solder some wire extensions before soldering to the male connector/plug.

My Bose QC2 make a weird noise when I move my head

I fixed the problem by putting the ear **** up against my face with my mouth inside of the ear piece, as if my mouth would've been listening to music. Make sure it is air tight around your mouth. I gently sucked air out of the air ****, and it fixed the problem!!! The speaker must of gotten dented in a little bit from to much pressure at some point or another by pressing up on the ear piece while they were on my head. The things are so air tight. Hope this works for you too. :)

Ear bud/ptt, not working

Two things to check for:

1) The radio is shut off when you plug the earpiece into the radio.
2) Your VOX feature is shut off, or set to zero. (The XTN radio will sense an audio device is plugged into the jack and sometimes cause problems such as you are having.)

Lastly, be certain the accessory is designed to be used with the XTN style radio.

On/off button for Zen

Take it apart. Just google how to do it, i found a post with pictures and took mine apart without much trouble (just had to buy a $5 small screwdriver kit at radioshack). the switch for the lock is actually a metal piece that is moved by that **** piece of plastic. You can move the switch easily to where you want it and put the plastic piece in the correct position. -Stoney

Ear Jack

Theres a good posibility that the solder connections are the only thinbg wrong with the connections BUT theres a possibility that the Printed curcuit board its self is a flex board and that the flex connections are torn. If thats the case you probably wont be able to fix the unit. If you can open the unit then you can look at the connections and see if its just plain old solder connections?? Good Luck
