I need the drivers for a mac computer- i cannot find any driver software for a Samsung s850 digital Camera

If you don't have the CD with intelli-studio, you could try some free software like Photoshop Express, Ulead, Gimp, BeFunkey, Perhaps these packages also can download pictures from your camera.

Most drivers your computer needs, are in the modern operating systems. Only when you have Win 2000 or elder, you need drivers from the CD. Perhaps some elder MACs need drivers too from the CD that came with the camera.

The drivers and software are not required for this camera. Currently only storage is available. The camera will show up as a drive in Finder. Simply plug in the camera via usb to your computer, add, edit, and remove photos. You can find your photos, and videos in the DCIM>120SSCAM folder. Hope this helps!

This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My Samsung S85 is plug and play. There was not special software.
I am running a 2006 iMac with that has Preview, and later after OS upgrade iPhoto already on it. One came up when the camera was connected.
To connect - turn camera power off. Connect cable. Turn on camera. Camera displays a selection of what to connect to. A drive Icon shows up on my computer screen.

Have you tried starting download manually? Control Panel > Add Hardware...

Like all other Digi camera the provided software is not required to transfer images to a Windows computer
The computer will do this-
plug in the camera set to upload the computer will put up the Camera/scanner Wizard and asked where you want the images to go.

Best just use the camera like a film camera. Shoot and download into computer to view or delete photos. This step is slower, but still cheaper than repairing or using film camera.
