You must first install the web-cam then download the messenger to be installed.

Hi. I think you might try uninstalling the webcam driver then install the latest driver for your webcam. Also try installing a newer version of the yahoo messenger. I already tried this with my laptop that has the same issue with your machine and it works for me. Hope this helps..

ok i know that the 3680 was in production around late 2006, so i am just guessing here, but most likely your laptop cam out in the mid of 2007, therefore making it a little over 2years old

Acer Aspire Model generally comes with a bison web cam driver.
To use the web cam search for an application that installed in program files.In windows Xp web cam can be used by double clicking camera icon present in my computer. If you are using windows vista or other operating system you need an camera application software,to use it. Without application software you can use your web camera only in messengers,for example yahoo messenger. If u had an yahoo messenger login and click on view my web cam,now you can see your face in your laptop.So first thing is search for an application software installed on your laptop.

may be the driver files are missing .. just update it and see ...

upgrade your yahoo messanger or go to the preferences and check what web cam settings you have

FYI, if you can't find the driver under AS 3680, try AS 5570 or AS 5570z
