I have an older model Panasonic DVD player (A120) and can't get my Comcast remote to program this. Non of the Panasonic codes in the Comcast manual seems to work. Any workarounds? Thanks.

It is my understanding the xfinity remote is designed only to control comcast set top box and TVs. It also can control audio receivers. It is unlikely you can control a DVD player with it.

At best you could try and use the programming instructions on page 5 of the manual and see if it picks up your DVD player. Otherwise it might be better to use the existing remote controller you have and program the Comcast set top box to it. You need to find the codes from the programming instructions of the original remote control and you will also need to know the model number of your comcast box.

make sure your using those codes with the AUX button. Comcast does not have all remote codes for every electronic made though.

u didn't mentioned the model of comcast remote.if it is DVR 3 device then you can control panasonic dvd through it. the programming code is 20490

if its comcast DVR 3 divice univeral remote control then try these code 0490,0632,1490,1907

I have the solution! Get comcast to give you the remote with the GREY Ok/Select button. There are codes for this remote that support the Panasonic home theatre in a box. You can go to comcast.com and find the remote manual for this to see it for yourself. I have 3 boxes and just got a new one and was trying to do the same as you. I found the old remote for one of my older cable boxes and switched it out, programmed for the Panasonic and it all works quite well!

I was having the same problem with my 40" Proscan Tv. I had to go to Comcast and get the remote with the gray OK button instead of the red. I could program my DVD player with a 4 digit code so this remote worked when I put in the 4 digit code Proscan sent with the TV (0178). This was the only solution I could find . They do have the remotes with the gray button but you might have to be very persistant to get one with the codes for the rest of your electronics.

Multi-Region:

Power On the player
Open the tray
Press 9, 8, 1, 7 on the remote
Press Enter until the display indicates Region 9
Press Return

Note: Region 9 = All Regions

Heres the one i know for this player. The enter key might be named 'ok' on other remotes.

If using the comcast remote to control your dvd player, then review comcast manual for the codes for dvd. If the manufacture isn't listed or the codes don't work, then there might be a range of codes in the manual you can try.
Otherwise you can contact your dvd manufacture on purchasing a new one or get a learning remote.

Try this open cd drawer, Press 9, 8, 1, 7 on the remote control, Press ENTER till it shows region 9 and Press RETURN.
