When it asks you to enter the code for your tv use 10178

It works like a charm!

DirecTV has an optional remote that is able to learn the command pattern from the original remote. Costs a little bit, but is an alternative. Call up DirecTV, if haven't already, as sometimes they will have new codes that are not published in the manual (receiver) yet.

Since the flood of new models is great, your remote will never have the capability to control all brands and models. Vizio (like many others) is a very new name in the marketplace so if they did not choose to mimic the IR system of another, more wide-spread brand, you may never have a code set in proprietary remote such as yours (and mine from Dish Network). Even the 'learning' remote I bought will not accept the control signals from the lousy Ilo we own either. Your provider, DirecTV may have some newly developed partially effective code sets so check the support section of their website.  

The last few months, directv has been upgrading the software on their receivers to include Polaroid codes. Don't know if they will work with Dish, but the newest codes added are 10765, 10865. 11276, 11314, 11316, 11326, and 11327. Some Directv codes work with Dish. Worth a try.

I have a Sylvania LC427SSX and can not get the remote to work with the codes given by comcast. Does anyone know the correct code?

I used a Sony code 10111 that works. Sony makes components for Westinghouse.

DirecTV offers a remote code lookup tool, which I just used to find possible codes for my Westinghouse TX-42F430S; its first suggestion (the "most popular" code) didn't work. Clicking the "It's not here" button showed seven more codes, and one of them (11577) worked perfectly. Here is the full list of Westinghouse codes for DirecTV from that tool (as of 11/27/08):
