Maytag epic error code f01

Maytag Epic Gas Dryer

This error code below would be indicated when attempting to start a drying cycle, or after activating the diagnostic test mode.

E1 - flashes if the thermistor is open.

The machine control electronics monitors the exhaust temperture using the thermistor, and cycles the heater relay on and off to maintain desired temperature.
Begin with an empty dryer and a clean lint screen.
  1. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
  2. Set the following configuration:
Door - must be firmly closed Press CONTROL ON Press CYCLE END SIGNAL (Loud) Press HOLD TO START

3.
If after 60 seconds, E1 or E2 flashes in the display and the dryer shuts off, the thermistor or wire harness is either shorted or open.

  • Unplug dryer or disconnect power
  • Check wire connection at the machine control electronics and thermistor.
  • If wire connections are good, remove the two wires from the thermistor and replace the thermistor.
  • Plug in dryer or reconnect power
NOTE: All thermistor resistance measurements must be made while dryer is unplugged or disconnected from power.

Thermistor resistance: 10 Celsius ----- 19-22 kOhm
16 C ------------ 15-17 kOhm
21 C ------------- 11.5-13.5 kOhm
27 C ------------- 8.5-10.5 kOhm
32 C ------------- 6.8-8.8 kOhm
38 C ------------- 5-7 kOhm

If E1 or E2 doesn't flash in the display, the connections to the thermistor are good. Therefore, check exhaust temperature value at any or all of the temperature levels.
Hold a glass bulb thermometer capable of reading from 32 to 82 Celsius (90-180 F) in the center of the exhaust outlet.

Table below shows correct exhaust temperatures:

I have a Maytag LSE1000. The dryer and washer each have an issue at the moment. The dryer intermittently won't engage when it is turned in. When you press the "regular" button to start it,...

I really have NO idea what's causing your Maytags to misbehave, BUT I can tell you that the Maytag service centers have always been very accommodating when I've called about problems with dishwashers, dryers, and washing machines. They have explained the construction of the appliance and even told me the type of tools I needed to make repairs! If you still have your owner's manual, the toll free number should be in there. I hope this helps!

Dryer wont heat

First answer is yes; high resistance is good. I am not sure I understand the second question. The reasion one has to isolate the element is to avoid resistance from other parts. This, I believe , is the most likly problem.

The hard work is over! The old belt should pull out from the drum area if it is broken. There should be two ends to it now. Get a new belt and put it over the front of the tumbler. You should, (with a flashlight) be able to see where the old belt was running. Get the new belt close to that spot.. I believe your model ran with the smooth side of the belt to the drum.It will not look right to you, but the tensioner passes the belt through the pulley and motor pulley on the grooved side of the belt.Once the belt is on, reassemble the dryer front in reverse of disassembly.
